That is so bizarre that they didn't have faith in the survivability of ther highest performing engine at the time. Yeesh!

Were they running Quadrajets too on the L34/35 engines?

Yes. Entire engine was blueprinted and runs like a top. With 3:31 gears I think I ran 14's at the Supercar reunion on those skinny tires.

Yes you did run 14's and we were all amazed at the reunion! The engine was blue printed and the L34 cam was used in the build.

NHRA’s Wally Parks contacted Chevrolet after the race wanting pace cars for use.... Chevrolet said No.
