I give all the credit to Schonye and Joe Schoenthaler for locating the car and Matt Lamer for his detective work locating everyone including the original owner.

On another discussion on this site it mentioned that only 2 1969 Olympic Gold Yenko Camaros of the 10 produced had white stripes this is number 3. Pictures are whats left of the original white yenko stripes wrapped around front edge of the door. You can also see some of the Olympic Gold paint underneath the Maroon Lacquer that was applied in the 1970s.

When you start closely inspecting the car and paint check the fenders below the rocker trim for blackout... then check the rockers below the doors.
x66 bodies got blacked out rockers at Norwood. Dave's (Bill Hunter's) original paint car shows the fenders were never blacked out and the rockers WERE painted body color over blacked rockers EITHER in the touch up at end of Chevrolet Assembly or at YENKO. The tape job is horrible... https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/Xq...w1550-h1034-no https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-F...w1550-h1034-no https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/PL...w1466-h1095-no https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/xS...w1466-h1095-no |
We are starting the restoration soon and will inspect that...Troy painted the car maroon in 1979
