Are you using the rounded bead welting between the fender and the body? [/ QUOTE ] Yep!! https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...mlins/flag.gif |
Re: 37 Ford LS2 Continuation thread
Are you going to paint it body color, or leave it a neutral? The reason I ask is that there can be an adheision issue with the welting sometimes depending on what you spray it with.

Re: 37 Ford LS2 Continuation thread
Spent a few minutes with our mutual friend today. He suggested I take a look at the progress. I am very impressed. I can only imagine how you want to get this on the road.

Re: 37 Ford LS2 Continuation thread
This is not the wheel or tire size I will be using, we just mocked it up to get the back spacing set....the tire on that rim is 27" in dia and the size we are going to use will be 29" in dia.......with the 29" tire and the gear ratio in the rear I should be around 1800 rpm at 65 MPH....The rims and tires should be on the car early next week.....
http://i13.photobucket.com/albums/a2...DSC01058-1.jpg One of the other issues I'm dealing with is the 1pc windshield.....seems the glass place is having some issues with getting the glass shaped correctly.....the windshield was installed at the body shop and when I picked the body up I really didn't focus on the glass as I was blown away by the body and paint work....after a week of looking at the glass, I can't stand to look at it any more.....I'm in communication with the glass company trying to get a good piece of glass......if that doesn't happen......out it comes and I'll just have to put in the flat "V" butted windshield... http://i13.photobucket.com/albums/a2...DSC01059-1.jpg http://i13.photobucket.com/albums/a2...DSC01062-1.jpg http://i13.photobucket.com/albums/a2...DSC01065-1.jpg Ken |

Re: 37 Ford LS2 Continuation thread
I also cut a hole in the floor and got the wiring inside the car today......I 've got a couple of plates made that will seal the opening in the floor and traps a rubber grommet around the harness as it comes thru the floor to seal everything ......I was trying to figure out where to fit the ECM and decided that I would mount it right in the middle of the firewall as I have a real neat touch screen radio that I have to build a mini console for so it will be hidden behind it........The radio is pretty cool.....Flip screen, touch screen, navigation system, satellite radio, audio and video CD player, and it has a camera built in for backing up......
http://i13.photobucket.com/albums/a2...DSC01070-1.jpg http://i13.photobucket.com/albums/a2...t/DSC01073.jpg I also have to put in the sound deadener before I get too far.......... Ken |
Re: 37 Ford LS2 Continuation thread
Ken, windshield looks good from here, maybe different in person? Ron......

Re: 37 Ford LS2 Continuation thread
Whoa! I have to disagree; that windshield would drive me nuts. The fit isn't good but more importantly, that's GOTTA give some serious distortion when you look through the center part. As cool as it COULD be, personally, I'd opt for the butt-joint flat pieces. I could get used to the seam, but I think the distortion issue would be a constant irritation.
