In 1639, this 3300 acre island at the east end of Long Island, 6 miles long, 3 miles wide and has 27 miles of coastline in what is now New York State was settled by Lion Gardiner.

The island was made a proprietary colony, granted via a royal decree by Charles I that gave Gardiner “the right to possess the land forever.”

The descendants of Lion Gardiner still hold the 3,300-acre island, making Gardiners Island the oldest estate in the United States and the only royal grant from the English Crown still intact in the country.

The rear fenders are not the same for the coupe and the convertible. That means Buick would have needed 2 different rear spoilers. That along with wanning sales of convertibles in general in 1970 meant coupe only.

The early production 1969 Shelby Mustangs did not have the HD spindles used on the Boss 302. So the tires were limited to E7015s - same used for the 1968 models. If you put F6015 tires on one of these cars, hard turns will damage the shock towers eventually ripping them away from the body. Ford found this out with testing on the Boss 302 hence the HD spindles. Once they became available, they were installed on the Shelbys along with the F6015 Polyglas GT tires.

----I have another question on Buick GSX's. Are GSX's all non Stage Ones, or did Buick just leave off the Stage One emblem on a Stage One ordered GSX?
----Wrong pic, but you get the idea.

I could probably get some cars in those extra rooms.

I've been trying to figure out how to keep the GTO in the dining room at my house.

You can disassemble it without cutting. Like building a ship in a bottle.
Take it in there one piece at a time.

wasnt there an episode of andy griffith that they did this to a car inside the jail/court house

Lee Stewart 08-09-2023 03:21 AM

It's cheaper and faster just to knock out an outside wall and drive the car into the living room. Then rebuild the wall.

Taking apart a super low mileage special order GTO then rebuilding it - that's crazy!
