Looks like the hubcap rule has caught up with the FAST guys.

They were making passes at the NMCA event this weekend (US131 Dragway, Martin MI) and I see they had the trim rings removed from the drive wheels. Still running the full set up (cap and ring) on the fronts.

Pennington was going 9.30's I believe and is now sporting a parachute.

1962 Oldsmobile F-85 Jetfire Turbo Wagon

Exactly what is an Oldsmobile F-85 Jetfire wagon? Well, to start, it's a one-year-only, five-door spinoff of the 1961 Cutlass (F-85). And it bears the name "Jetfire," thanks to a 215-cubic-inch, 215-horsepower (300 lb-ft of torque), all-aluminum Oldsmobile Jetfire Turbo-Rocket V-8 engine that was designated exclusively for 1962/1963 F-85 sport coupes and convertibles, and 1962 station wagons. A BorgWarner four-speed manual transmission completed the unique cars' dynamic drivetrain.

OMG!*&%! I cant believe how this misinformation is spreading all over the internet because of Hot Rod and Motor Trend covering this wagon at the auction. This is a fabricated 1 of NONE wagon built by a guy that had Jetfire parts laying around. Jetfires were 1962 and 1963 HARD TOP COUPE only cars, no wagons, sport coupes, or convertibles were ever factory produced. There are 2 fake convertibles out there also. 1962,63 Cutlass were post cars, only the Jetfire was a Hard Top COUPE and you could only get the Turbo in a Hard Top COUPE Jetfire.
Here is my REAL 1962 Jetfire:

----If Super Dave had built this wagon he would have made it a 4-door "hardtop" Jetfire wagon!

They were hardtop COUPES only. If's as if someone built a 1969 Camaro Z/28 convertible, automatic, A/C, and Motor Trend or Hot Rod did an article on it being real 1 of 1 and the general public started believing it.

For the new 1967 Mustang, Ford offered a whole bunch of options. Included were 3 for the rear panel. Above is the Rear Grille body colored.

https://images2.imgbox.com/16/5a/rwnM48li_o.png

You could also have it painted Charcoal Gray.

Or skip the grille and have it painted Charcoal Gray. All gave the car a distinctive look for very little money.

In 1969 Alan Bean, Charles “Pete” Conrad, and Richard Gordon all ordered what would become the most famous astronaut Corvettes of all. Painted gold and black to match their lunar module spacecraft, and bedecked with triple-carb 427s, this trio of Corvettes was featured in many press photos and came to define the pilots and their cars.

My guess would be a Barracuda or a Marlin. Guess it could have been an Opel Manta, if the Sting Ray were cannibalistic. Yeah, yeah, the Manta wasn't around until 72 and this picture likely predates that.
