Tardigrades are micro-animals (0.059 in) AKA Water Bears. They have been found in diverse regions of Earth's biosphere – mountaintops, the deep sea, tropical rainforests, and the Antarctic. Tardigrades are among the most resilient animals known with individual species able to survive extreme conditions – such as exposure to extreme temperatures, extreme pressures (both high and low), air deprivation, radiation, dehydration, and starvation – that would quickly kill most other known forms of life. Tardigrades have survived exposure to outer space. I'd call that a pretty neat super power.

Gotta be one of the ugliest creatures on the planet. What looks like a "snout" of sorts looks like man made plastic.

Came across this photo and I have no idea what it is. It looks like a professionally taken one. Can any read what is above the headers? Does it say MARK V LINCOLN?

Early Mustangs look great with Mag Wheels. But IMO - should have the dual red band tires as they were so unique and only available on the 65/66 V8 Mustangs.

They are portrayed as being virtually indestructible but in reality - they aren't. I was reading an article where they loaded them into different muzzle velocity rifle bullets to see if they could survive. Anything over 500 MPH (the tests went to 2000 MPH) destroyed them.

Did some reading myself. Seems like they can stay in a state similar to suspended animation for LOOOONG periods of time; having been confirmed up to 30 years. That state is referred to as a "tun" IIRC. But OUT of the tun, they only live 2 or 3 years.

Really interesting.

The last word only has five letters.

I can't make out what it says, though.

This 1954 Ford Crestline Skyliner is described as one of 107 factory-built with a “demo hood,” a dealer display item with a clear window allowing potential customers a peak at the then-new 239 Y-block OHV V8.

Doesn't Dana Mecum now own it?

He did the last time I saw it. Something about the original paperwork was stolen out of it at one of his auctions while it was getting loaded on a transport truck if I remember correctly. Bill

----Al and his wife were at the Auburn auction. They drove down in Al's Suburban and it was parked in the auction area. The Estes car was in the auction. His wife had all the original paperwork for the car in her purse sitting on the passenger seat with the window down as I recall. You can guess the rest of the story. Luckily, Al had copies of everything, but they never got the original stuff or her purse back! I was there right around the time they found the bag missing. Sad day!!!!.....Bill S

A great formation photo of my local friends Mike George (PIC) and Marty Towsley (back seater) of Springfield, IL flying Worry Bird and flying formation with friend Tom Harmon (PIC) in his formally owned Shrangri-La. Some may recall me posting a recent photo of Tom's latest ride Hurry Home Honey which Tom now owns. Between the three of these guys I have worked on many of their cars and have had lots of good times with them. Mike is also the one who let me fly his T34 in preparation for my P51 piloting in Florida last year.

That's not a stock MARK 5. It's been altered - no quarter rear window:
