One of the stipulations that John Weaver insisted upon was that the restoration be completed within 24 months....Frank, Matt, Matt and crew worked their magic and finished the car in 17 fun months.

We intend to do something special for the Olympic Gold 69 Yenko to honor the late original owner Rick Barratt who passed away recently on December 5, 2019....god speed to him and condolences to his family. Rick won Indy in 1975 . Troy Shattuck that had owned the car since 1976 will be helpful in the car build.

did a little searching ....
Rick Barratt, C/G and B/G NHRA Gasser class "The 360-cu.in. Cleveland-powered Pinto ran a career best of 9.18 at 154.00 Street Eliminator was one of the categories at NHRA national events, made up of Gassers and Modified Production cars. Rick was a local boy from Indiana, which made it a really, really big deal for him to win the U.S. Nationals. " |
I have the same photo Joe...kuddos to Rick ...he made it a family affair with him..wife Carol and brother Marty who was also an NHRA official. Rick went on to be a successful businessman. A life lived on his terms.... boy do I really wish I could have met him.
