You may be upset now, but in years to come, you will just consider it a part of the learning process.

Here was my body-off moment 24 years ago....If I did it, so can you!!!

If your bumpers don't have external surface rust and haven't been hit/bent, they are likely as nice as you'll ever find. Clean them up for now, rattle can the inside silver if it really bugs you, and replate them later. Nice bumpers on these cars are not easy to find, and I haven't heard great things about the repros in terms of the chrome quality.

Thanks Luke, New chrome is "phase 2" on the originals they are very solid and original so they are part of the heart and soul!!

I have used 4 chains (or 2 long ones) In a criss cross pattern attatched to the rear seat belt mounts and there are two holes suitable for lifting by the kick panel area. put the engine hoist in the middle and lift. the car will be a tad back heavy but with a buddy or two they can lift and guide the chassis out of the way. I'd hate to see the body sway on you and make those firewall brackets distort anything.

Thanks for sharing,

I have two engines hoists ready to go, and we have cinder blocks and 10 foot long 4X4's for front and back, so we will add blocking (1.5 inch thick wood) as she goes up till an additional block can be added, no swaying, no risky stuff:-)

Very excited, and nervous!

Ryan

when we were chatting at MCACN, were you looking for seatbelts?
