In 1969, I bought a set of TT pipes and mufflers for my 1968 Honda 350.

I was still in school and lived at home at the time. 20 YEARS later, my Dad was still bitchin at me for that and throwing the catalogs in the recycling bin... talk about tenacious marketing...

First photo I've seen with the top up. IMO it looks "funky" as the car is large and the top is small.

One day in 1949 a petite young lady showed up at MG dealership in this Duesenberg sitting on a booster seat in order to drive , traded in for a more practical MG TC . This car sold in 2011 for 10.34 million . George Whittell Jr. purchased this car new , was said to be his pet lion Bill’s favorite car to ride in .

That's gotta be one of the most beautiful brass-era cars ever made.

Lynn 06-01-2023 09:58 PM

Actually well after the brass era Mark. Not trying to be a wise acre.

The Brass Era is an American term for the early period of automotive manufacturing, named for the prominent brass fittings used during this time for such features as lights and radiators. It is generally considered to encompass 1896 through 1915, a time when cars were often referred to as horseless carriages.

Chrome plating first showed up on cars and motorcycles in 1927

4 speed 289. The dealer is asking $30 grand. IMO a little high. Maybe between $22K and $25K? Not sure I like the matte finish.

Impressive and not cheap. $750 in 1966. That would be $7,022.29 in today's money.

You're right, thanks. I didn't even look at the year that it was, I was just looking at the style which reminded me of that era. Still, an amazing car.
