----There was a company (out of California, I believe) that actually advertised C2 mufflers with two tips. One came out the normal location and the other came out below the valence in towards the license plate. I remember the adds well, but don't remember the name of the company!.....Bill S

I find this absolutely fascinating.....to build that plant in less than 2 years and then spitting out production in the same frame?? That's impossible in today's world. I'm sorry to admit I remember those days of bam, bam, bam construction, no lawyer, suits or safety, inclusivity, BEEES.

As much as I love the muscle cars as presented on this site, I feel a car like this is by far and large SPECTACULAR!

Vintage Day 3 on this one.

I agree; they are large and spectacular, but it is when I see these that I let out an audible gasp -

I saw the aftermath of something like this for real when we were in Arizona.

I had to get my truck emissions tested and I noticed a hole in the brick wall across from the exit.

I asked what happened and they said an older gentleman in a big Cadillac left the building and shot across, through that brick wall. When they ran over to check on him the engine was still running and screaming at several thousand RPM. He claimed his cane got tangled up in the pedals and accidentally depressed the throttle way down.

The funny thing to me, though (forgive me for finding something funny in this) was that the shape of the hole in the wall was just like in the cartoons: you could tell it was a passenger car, and could even see where the mirrors went through.

----When this GM design/show car was restored here in Michigan the exhaust had to be duplicated. A friend of mine from the ocean racing world built this set you see in the pics. He is a real craftsman! I won't take exhaust work to anyone else.....Bill S

That is a beautiful exhaust system, Bill. The Shop Order cars are my favorites.
