A little treat I have always wanted.....
I started pumping gas at the local Sunoco at 13 years old, there was a mechanic who worked there that had a 1967 Chevelle Malibu, Painted orange with black stripes, big block hood, Cragars, ladder bars, 327, Camel hump heads, Holley, 4.10 gears, and a 4 speed.... shifted with a Hurst Pistol Grip Shifter. He took me for a ride and flat shifted through the gears.... I have been wanting one of these shifters ever since!!!! Today is like Christmas!!! Ryan W31 Now I need to get my ass in the garage and get my car back together!!! |
Very nice.

I have installed my SFI flywheel, Lakewood bell housing, clutch fork, I had to buy a McLoed adjustable throw out bearing, and adjustable pivot ball to get the adjustment just right.
I used my sphere end rod kit for the linkage. I pulled the pedals out and fixed the slop I had. I could push the brake and clutch pedal side to side way too much, now they move free but no extra slop :-) I am close to putting the trans and driveshaft back in… I changed the oil in the rear, and fixed a drip I had since day one. I changed the oil in the trans. I have my new pistol grip shifter on my Street Super Shifter and can’t wait to try it!!! Ryan W31 |
I like your Vintage Metal Tanker Desk....Check the Manufacture Tag was it made in Chicago?

Wow! Not many can say they had their car made into model form for all to enjoy! Way cool Ryan!! First an amature made calendar, now a professional model. Kudos man!! :headbang:
Cheers Dave |
What's next Ryan? Are you going to be the next centerfold in Playgirl? Is that mag still around?
Seem to remember a centerfold type shot of Da Grump back in the day. NO.... I am not asking anyone to post that pic. Hard to unsee it. |

One of my Chevelles was done in the MCACN series, 2019. The only real inaccuracy is they mounted the antenna at the rear. Bill W |

I asked Brad Barrie (same guy that made my plate frames) to make dealer stickers.
I got a few colour combos to try. Black and white, black and reflective white, green and white. Can’t wait till they arrive!! Ryan W31 |

I have been a little quiet lately and need to catch up on sYc
September 2022 PSMCDR I was matched up with a 1973/4 Chevelle 454/TH400/3.31 Posi for the shootout. Our times were within a tenth so it was a good match up. I won the best two out of three and we raced the third for fun and I won that one too. :-) PSMCDR is a friends and family and racing weekend and I could not enjoy it more!!! Winning felt pretty fantastic too!!! Ryan W31 |
Congrats and car looks killer
|
Ryan, your W31 ran well in the time trials when I was there on Friday. Good chatting with you in the pits. Congrats on your wins on Saturday. Looks like your seat time and shifting had paid off.

PSMCDR was a hoot, I drove Des’ Mr Transmission truck and a rented trailer with my Cutlass Thursday to be ready to go Friday morning. Amy came Friday and surprised me by bringing my Mom. (It was so nice to share the experience with them.
I got to visit with so many friends!!! Bob Ashton even brought me a binder full of W Machine muscle car magazines. The car worked very well, I set the rev limiter at 6,200 and I hit it several times. One time I thought things were going south but as far as I can tell I took off in first and somehow shifted into fourth…. that is not optimal….. all was well and I took a couple test runs through the gears and got back at it. I went down the strip 23 times!!! ET, and MPH were very similar to 2019. Ryan W31 |
Cool pics Ryan! Looks like you had a blast....:headbang:
