3 months I can get cans from Charleston SC to China in less time than that... and for $425... the inland freight costs me more than the Ocean Freight... All they want is cans back over there... so they can charge $4000 for the return trip... LOL

NEW CAMARO in Vegas bythe name of DANA :)
After shipping the DANA off from Honolulu and tracking the ship/contaier to Long Beach and then over to Vegas it finally arrived at LVs Rod Shop. Pictures of the off loading were forwarded to myself.
Steve has asked me to post a few updates and pix of the Dana Camaro's arrival to his place in LV, Tuesday, April 24. He isn't presently feeling to jazzy, due to two recent hospital stays, but he wanted me to update the interested forum members at my discretion as to the progress and migration of the 68 Dana Camaro. Great story; just read through the whole thing. I recently lived on Hawaii for two years and finding a musclecar was pretty tough. When you did find something it was usually rusted to h*ll and overpriced, too. My "island car" was a '67 Dodge Dart GT convt - rusty but a good 20 footer. I also found a '68 Firebird with a 427 and a 4 sp that I beat on for a few weeks before I sold it (heading back to mainland and could only ship one car back for free). Wish I would've heard about this car, but sounds like it would've been out of my price range...

The "black stuff" is what is left behind after Naval Jelly is left on the fenders for 37 years. There is what also appears as calcium/salt deposits built up in spots on the car from perhaps the salt air. These are a problem because at the end of the white deposits the base has eaten to the metal. Not bad, but it has killed the paint. The black stuff seams to dissolve and friend was over yesterday and was fasinated with the car. He suggested 'gojo' hand cleaner so we smeared some around and it breaks up the "black stuff". We are just cleaning up the car in areas for SCRX. We removed the carpets, etc yesterday for cleaning. Kasey...the wiring requires a total re-do, so Brian won't have time to fire the motor before SCR. Just getting the brakes in order and general clean-up will be quite a project before SCR.
