Like on the 17 71 Conv, your friend's numbers match "17 total". Only a couple of the colors are off. I was wondering if you compared all the other totals against the numbers we have all seen (as in total production), against the numbers you posted.

I think some one posted them earlier in this thread, I thought you might have already compared them.

If its the numbers your talking about no.I think the numbers that were posted earlier are a total for GTO and Judge.Yeah I checked out the 17 verts to the other numbers on the 17 verts its pretty close to each other.

I was able to rack my brain. I know of 3 mint turq. Judges, it's a rare color, but I would think alittle more than that might of been made. But I think he's dead on the Daytona Yellow hardtop, I have a RAIV(fremont), & know of a RAIII a guy has in n. Like I said on a earlier post he never went into detail with his son on how he gathered this information up.Yes his dad owned 3 Judges at one time then he ended up selling two of the three and keeping a 70 HT RAlll 4speed Polar White Judge now his son owns it.I'm just glad that he decided to release the information.

Asfar as having docs for his findings???I cant answer that I'll have to call my friend and ask about that.I know that he only kept track of the year and exter color only.I dont understand why he didn't keep track of the motor trans and inter color at the same time but this is how he did it.

I checked my 71 convertible info with known published numbers and they match those that I have posted earlier. I believe GM actually kept track of them. As for 69's I know of at least two Mayfair Maize Judges from Davis Pontiac in Richboro, PA, I owned one and I know or three others one being a RA IV car. I'm sure that some people will have differant views with this information.I think thats why he never told any body this infomation because of this fact,thats why he never claimed that it was totaly correct.But I think it give us a better idea on how many are made in a certain color.

Since I posted the numbers there has been acouple of people that say that the numbers on some colors are to low.I'm glad that people are pointing this out because with the numbers that I posted and the knowledge that people have on Judges,maybe we'll get that 80-82% closer to 100%.

I went to a Pontiac show here in CA. years ago and I saw a 70 Judge HT 455 car it was Palladium Silver.At the time I never new that these cars were made and I was blown away that you could have a 455 in the Judge that year.I never got the guys name though and I never saw the car again.

The reason I asked is that I have a friend that lives in Oregon and he has found 5 of the 14 cars.

I mentioned Gary Cave to my friend yesterday and hes talked to the guy before about his Judges.He said the last time he talked to him was about a year ago.At that time Gary said he had about 32-35 Judges but he was'nt sure on the count.Gary also said he had regular GTO's for sale but did'nt mention how many of those cars he had.It would be nice to see all of his cars.

If anyone has questions or knows of a color that I listed for a certain year Judge that is to low or to high because you've seen or heard of more in that color please let me know.I'm going to start to gather additional information on the colors.

It's 1 of 6 with the tranny, although I always thought '70 ragtop figures were a little shaky and not concrete.

I 've never heard of a Judge club either maybe some one can get one started.Its like the Ply. superbirds and Dodge daytonas theres a seperate club for those cars.Theres nothing wrong with the average GTO but the Judge is a seperate model it would be nice to have a club some were for Judges.

technically, the Judge was an option package, not its own model.

I believe there was a Judge club around NM at some point but I bet it was a registry more than anything else.

Does anybody know how many 70 Judges did'nt have a hood tach?Was this possible to get a Judge this way?I've never seen one without a hood tach.

a hood tach was an option even on a Judge. I have seen many without a hood tach and a lot of the ones that have them are added.

I have an article in Muscle Car Review from a few years back with a 70 GTO with an "Vacuum Operated Exhaust" option. There was a knob under the dash similar to the Ram Air knob that activated it. When pulled, it opened a baffle in the mufflers and allowed the exhaust to flow like straight pipes. GM cancelled the option after January of 1970 due to fear of the gov't and noise regulations. The article said there were about 100 GTO's built with it. It didn't say if any were Judges. A commercial that ran during the 1970 Superbowl did it in with the GM execs.

How about the rear lamp indicator that's mounted on the package shelf? That's a rare one. I believe Quint Stires 1970 Polar white Judge has that rare documented option. That's the only Judge I have ever seen with that one.

The VOE was not available on Judges or Ram Air. I know there is a factory promo pic showing both but it was not available in production. The VOE moved baffles around that would take the quiet stock exhaust and give it that GTO rumble and not fully open the exhaust.
