The conversion cars from 1967 and 68 are so much more different than what happened with Yenko Chevrolet in 1969

Doug , Did they reuse the cast iron intake? And Quadra jet?

The blue rs that was at the show a few years back had the cast iron intake. It was a loaded car also. Level One restored it

Copo_Cartel 12-12-2018 01:33 AM

Hey John. Yes they reused the cast iron intake and the Quadra Jet......the (QJ) was 3 series part number in 67 ...In other words you ended up having three part numbers to choose from during the 67 calendar year

Doug,
The parts look great as does the car itself. Frank does great work and I can't wait to stop by the shop to see it in person!

I have a question pertaining to the tag light for I believe the tag light is incorrect for your car and appears to be a 69 Style. Did you replace the original for a better one or is it the factory installed original. I thought all the 67 68 tag lights had a small tab or at least on all that I have seen.

mockingbird812 12-17-2018 03:30 PM

Love the piece parts! Looking gooooooood!!!!

Copo_Cartel 12-17-2018 04:50 PM

I will have to text Tom. I know what you mean about the tab and the wire should be brown ... I have more items coming back and forth with Tom

Copo_Cartel 12-17-2018 05:31 PM

Tom says he has several items going at one time ...he says the wire is dark brown but the one in the photo is indeed a 69 ...because it does not have the tab for 67-68

The great work of Rick Miller of St George Utah ...a set of 4 Trim Rings

McCune 12-18-2018 10:45 PM

Who might this Rick Miller be?

Copo_Cartel 12-18-2018 11:36 PM

He is the guru of trim ring restoration...he can restore yours or if he has some in stock that fit your application...then he will sell you what he has. Great guy that is honest. He is in St George Utah. Hope this helps .

McCune 12-18-2018 11:48 PM

Thanks, I live in St George and have not heard of him. I know most of the car guys and am glad to hear we have a expert in town.

wheelhop 12-19-2018 12:38 AM

I hear St. George is a great place to retire!

Tag Light

The wire to the tag light on 67 / 68 are black with a gray wire grommet.
The 69 has the brown wire and gray wire grommet.
Here are two original 67/68 tag lights with the black wire and also the tab on the end.

Hope this helps!

Copo_Cartel 12-19-2018 02:28 PM

I see the tab. Does the housing say 67 or 68 ?

----Rick is a transplanted southern Cali guy which may be why you don't know him. He also used to sell a lot of vintage Chevy truck stuff, as well as Corvette stuff. Usually all NOS. Really good guy!......Bill S

Has Rick ever dove into working on the mag style wheel covers? Mainly thinking about the trim ring/basket part. The center section can be removed easily.

Happy to help you out with the weatherstrip, Doug. I hope you can find the one for the other side. That's a tough one.

Since we call the car “SUPERMAN” partly because of the color combination and partly because of John Weaver the original owner .
