Re: Musclecar Photographs mrays
I went to a cruise-in in Middlebury IN on Thursday night. Here are two recently completed cars that I haven't posted photos of before.
This 69 Chevelle SS is a two owner car with a build sheet and other documentation. It has all original sheet metal and has just over 100 miles on it since being completed. It has a cloth and vinyl bench seat interior. The original engine was gone so the owner installed a destroked 454. He said it has a 427 crank and other internals so I think that would make it a 434. It has solid lifters and a complete 3" stainless exhaust with stock tail pipes. It also has an M21 with I believe 3.73 rear gears. It sounded pretty healthy when he left. There was a for sale sign on it, but no price. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/pics...0-dscn2958.jpg https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/pics...1-dscn2956.jpg This 66 Chevy II SS has an LS-1. I could do without the rear spoiler, but other than that it was a very nice looking car. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/pics...2-dscn2959.jpg https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/pics...3-dscn2961.jpg https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/pics...4-dscn2964.jpg |
Re: Musclecar Photographs mrays
On Friday night Goshen IN had their annual cruise. Goshen used to be a big time cruising city until the 80's when it was outlawed. Now as part of First Fridays in July they have a cruise among other things. Main Street is 5 blocks long and it was packed with cars and people all night long.
I caught this sweet 66 Caprice cooling down in a lot just off Main Street. It has a small block with TPI. I liked the Chevelle SS louvers grafted into the hood. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/pics...5-dscn2965.jpg This Drag Week regular was out cruising. This 68 Nova has a 400ci small block with EFI and twin turbos. It has run in the 8.40's at over 160 with 25 pounds of boost on race gas. When he drives it on the street he runs it on pump gas with 7 pounds of boost. He lives just down the street from me and occasionally I can hear him out exercising it. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/pics...6-dscn2971.jpg |

Re: Musclecar Photographs mrays
I went to the Goodguys event in Columbus OH last weekend. There were only a couple of nice stock muscle cars there. There were lots of pro touring type cars.
Here are a couple of photos of my favorite car at the event, M. Rupp's 69 Yenko Chevelle that was restored by the Supercar Workshop several years ago. As far as I know this is still the only known Daytona Yellow Yenko Chevelle. It still looks great! https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/pics...7-dscn3001.jpg https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/pics...8-dscn2989.jpg This is W. Robinson's 69 Z/28. Pienta's 71 442 W-30 was sold new at David Ertley in Kingston PA. Schell's 69 COPO Camaro RS had Canadian documentation showing that it was an original COPO car with an M22 trans and endura bumper that was sold new at British American Chev Olds in Toronto ON. I believe this car was a Barrett Jackson several years ago. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/pics...3-dscn3130.jpg https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/pics...4-dscn3129.jpg |

Re: Musclecar Photographs mrays
Here are my pictures from the 2016 MCACN show. I took pictures of over 100 cars so I'll post them as I have time. This was an great show once again and I can't wait until next year. I apologize that some of the pictures aren't the greatest, but I didn't want to spend 2 days walking around with a tri pod. I hope you guys enjoy them!
Myron Since this is the Muscle Car and Corvette Nationals I'll start with the Corvettes. This is G. Castrovillo's Gypsy Red 54 Corvette. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/pics...6-dscn4267.jpg This is B. I never saw the hood open, but it's either a 390 or 400 horse car due to having a 5.5K redline tach. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/pics...9-dscn4368.jpg This is J. Anderson's 71 LT-1 Corvette. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/pics...0-dscn4369.jpg Now for some full size Chevrolet's. This is K. Nagel's 59 Impala convertible with a 290 horse fuel injected engine backed by a T-10 and 3.55 gears that was sold new in Northern CA. This is only the second factory fuel injected 59 Impala convertible I have seen. I don't know how many were made. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/pics...1-dscn4447.jpg https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/pics...2-dscn4301.jpg This is C. This car was featured in the latest issue of Hemmings Muscle Machines. Notice the difference between this car and the Impala SS above. The SS 427 was a separate model and lacked any Impala emblems. It also had the chrome louvers on the center of the hood that the Impala SS 427's lacked. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/pics...4-dscn4503.jpg This 68 SS 427 was a Pilot Car with VIN 100003 and is equipped with a 385 horse 427 backed by a TH400 and 3.08 gears. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/pics...5-dscn4327.jpg |

Re: Musclecar Photographs mrays
Mike,
I've been taking pictures of cars for over 20 years so they didn't always look like this. I'm currently using a Nikon Coolpix P600. I have the Image Quality set at Normal and the Image Size at 16m. For shooting indoors I have the Exposure Compensation set at +.7 and the flash set at Slow sync. I also have the image stabilization on to reduce the effects of camera shake since I'm not using a tripod. The only problem is any movement in the background looks blurry due to the slow shutter speed. I'm glad you enjoyed the pictures. I'll post more when I have some time. Myron |

Re: Musclecar Photographs mrays
In reference to the Hemicuda billboard question: a lot of owners/restorers install the billboards on the cars after the fact but it is extremely rare to find a 1971 Hemicuda that had them installed at the factory and has the paperwork/fendertag to prove it.

Re: Musclecar Photographs mrays
The Firebirds and Trans Ams blew me away this year, particularly the red '73 Trans Am with a sunroof and the white '74 Trans Am SD with the vinyl top and two-tone interior. Amazing!
I remember seeing another '74 Trans Am SD with a vinyl top featured as part of a collection in Muscle Car Review in 1984 or 1985. The car, as I recall, was red with a white vinyl top and honeycombs. It was also a hood decal delete car. I've not seen any photos of it since. Great photos! |
Myron,
I see you have been absent since 2016....I know first hand how much time and dedication it takes to post all your beautiful images and pictures. Great seeing you at the 2018 MCACN. I just wanted to say thank you for your awesome pictures, time and effort. Dan |
I'm still here, but after the site was updated a couple of years ago I could never get any pictures I took to post. I think the files are too large and need to be resized. Maybe sometime when I'm bored at work I can figure out what I need to do to post them.
|
Love all the pictures and the cars are out of this world
Thanks Gregg |
