#115. This COPO Chevelle was sold new at Lyle Chevrolet in Cuyahoga Falls OH. It is a 38K mile unrestored car with it's original engine and rear end. It is a bench seat automatic car and is one of the earliest non Yenko COPO Chevelles known.

Re: Supercar Photographs
#116. This is 1 of 2 Dover White Douglass Yenko Camaros. This one is N649011 and is an 05D car. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe all of the Douglass ordered Yenkos are 05D cars. This car has a CE block, but it's original transmission and rear end. I remember seeing this car at the Super Chevy at Joliet when J. Platania owned it back 2003 or so. A number of people thought it was a clone because it was white. Most people back then didn't know what a Douglass ordered Yenko was.

Re: Supercar Photographs
#117. This 68 Nova COPO is #28 and was sold new at Bill Allen Chevrolet in Kansas City MO. I believe the sign said it was super tuned by Dick Harrell. This is the former "Rats Nest" race car that was at MCACN a few years ago in as found condition. This is 1 of 3 known Matador red COPO Novas and 1 of 10 built.

Re: Supercar Photographs
Wish it would have been restored to "Rat's Nest"
condition... DH |
Re: Supercar Photographs
I was fortunate to be able to see the car at MCACN 2014 and I was able to talk to Brian Henderson at the display. The restoration is unbelievable and it was a joy to meet and talk to Brian too.

https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/pics..._12_18_145.jpg If the car would have been the "Rats Nest" from new, it may have been a consideration. But the fact it was a Fred Gibb/Dick Harrell super tuned 396 COPO Nova outweighed its racing configuration to the owner. It could always be returned to the Rats Nest..BKH |
Re: Supercar Photographs
Excuse my ignorance but, what makes it a COPO car?

Re: Supercar Photographs
The 50 Fred Gibb COPO Novas were the very first solid lifer big block cars to receive the turbo 400 automatics. In 1969 it became a RPO...BKH

Re: Supercar Photographs
#119. This COPO Chevelle was sold new at Brewers Chevrolet in Capton KY. It has a blue interior with a console. It is also an M40 car and I believe it has a numbers matching drivetrain. It was featured in Muscle Cars Kings of the Street from the Golden Era. This is probably my favorite COPO Chevelle.

Re: Supercar Photographs
#120. This COPO Camaro was sold new at Dale Chevrolet in Waukesha WI. This is a documented and numbers matching 4 speed car with a yellow hounds tooth interior and 30K original miles. This is the car I posted a picture of from the Car Craft Summer Nationals several months ago. It was cool to actually see it in person at MCACN.

Re: Supercar Photographs
#121. This Yenko Camaro is N613347 and was sold new at Marshall Chevrolet in Reading PA. According to the display board this is a low mileage car with it's original engine and rear end. I believe this one was restored by Camaro Specialties. I heard this one was pretty rough before the restoration so it looks like they did a great job of repairing and restoring this one. It won Gold and Emerald awards at MCACN.

Re: Supercar Photographs
This is all that I have for now, so I hope you guys enjoyed them. As I come across more supercars in the future I'll add them to this thread. I have lots of pictures of muscle cars and a few customs and race cars. Mostly from events here in the Midwest. If you guys are interested in seeing some of those maybe I'll start a new thread with them.

Re: Supercar Photographs
#613347 has a much, MUCH bigger & better story behind it! It's a real car, with the original engine and rear, but the car itself had quite a life. This is known as 'Auggies Car', and I know the whole story is on a thread here somewhere - it's worth the read! Auggie finally got all of the pertinent parts of the car back together, sold it and retired - good for him.

Re: Supercar Photographs
Camaro Specialties did the restoration and supplied the BE rear, it has original motor that was decked. Very solid car to begin with.

Re: Supercar Photographs
I talked to the owner during move in....That car almost didn't make it to the show...due to weather. Kudos to the owner for doing the crazy drive out of Buffalo with all of that snow on the ground!!

Thanks for posting all those pics and yes another thread or two would be appreciated as well. |

Long time lurker, first time poster. Anyone remember this happening! This is the late 80's at Super Chevy Sunday in Indy. Shackle broke, tire began rubbing, fire ensued... |

The fire on the way to Super Chevy happened I want to say in 1988. I think the resto was around 1990 maybe? I didn't write any dates on my pictures but it's in the ball park |
Re: Supercar Photographs
I wonder if #40 ZL1 is in the hands of a collector in northern Minnesota now. Saw this 2 years ago at a local car show....
