Re: 37 Ford LS2 Continuation thread
Had some turn signal problems that Dave came over today and resolved....I spent a couple of hours trying to fix it yesterday and got nowhere,......Dave tracked it down to the steering column plug in about 5 minutes.......that's why I stay away from things that spark.....nothing good will happen if I start twisting wires......................LOL
Anyhow, got the Horns mounted and working, got the outside mirrors mounted to the doors, got the front sheetmetal aligned and tightened, Dave got the license plate light hooked up...also got the rear quarter windows installed in the frames with the modified seals......I ruined one of the rear window seals trying to install the glass and had to order another set.......Otherwise I might have made it to Rolling Meadows...... Nuff of the B.S. here are some pic's http://i13.photobucket.com/albums/a2...t/DSC02130.jpg http://i13.photobucket.com/albums/a2...DSC02139-1.jpg http://i13.photobucket.com/albums/a2...DSC02140-1.jpg Note the hidden wire http://i13.photobucket.com/albums/a2...t/DSC02123.jpg http://i13.photobucket.com/albums/a2...t/DSC02124.jpg Ken |

Re: 37 Ford LS2 Continuation thread
I picked up the tail lights from the painter today.......made rubber gasket for mounting and assembled them with the LED lights......they turned out like the model...LOL

Ken |

Re: 37 Ford LS2 Continuation thread
Got the tail lights installed and wired up today, also got the back glass installed with help from Dr. Lillard.........After driving it around for a while....I had to adjust the tailpipes to eliminate the "Banging" going on....that was an easy fix......found the rear yoke seal on the trans was leaking slightly....None of the auto stores had one so I'll have to wait till Tuesday and check with some trans shops........Also had a Battery plan "A" and a plan "B".....Plan "A" didn't work so the UPS guy showed up with Next Day Air Plan "B".....Dyna-Batt mini Dry Cell battery................put it in and problem gone.....amazing how much power that little thing has....
anyhow....here are some pic's..... http://i13.photobucket.com/albums/a2...t/DSC02180.jpg http://i13.photobucket.com/albums/a2...t/DSC02181.jpg http://i13.photobucket.com/albums/a2...t/DSC02183.jpg http://i13.photobucket.com/albums/a2...t/DSC02186.jpg Ken |
Re: 37 Ford LS2 Continuation thread
Like the tail light mounts. Came out nice. If Lillard helped you with the glass you better bring some plastic and duct tape on the Tour.

Re: 37 Ford LS2 Continuation thread
Got a rear trans seal today so I got that changed, I also got the Capillary tube installed in the A/C unit without pulling the dash out..Ha!!...hooked up and lengthened the A/C control wires temporarily till I get the console made next week....So...I cleaned it up and took it out for a test ride with the A/C running for about a half hour......Temp gauge never moved and everything worked out very well.....one of the issues that came up is that the tires on the rear contact and rub slightly against the inner fender lip.......Darn!!.........I'm gonna pull the wheels and tire apart and machine about a 1/4" off the axle mounting surface to move the tires in a little bit more.........Basically I just have to make some little details to mount the Ignition key assy and the headlight switch, mount the interior rear view mirror and get the Radio installed.........5 days to Power Tour....

Re: 37 Ford LS2 Continuation thread
Three days till we leave for Power Tour......Lot's to do.....Today I had a bunch of issues to resolve, the A/C unit wasn't blowing real cold, found out the Vintage Air heater control valve was staying wide open.....the guy's at Frame-Up found that I had a ground wire issue (Fixed).....Next issue...I found out that it wasn't recommended to machine a 1/4" off the rear wheels to move them in.....Darn........Ordered two more with the correct backspacing (Next Day Air from L.A.)....hope the credit card bill shows up while we are gone, she's gonna be pissed....LOL......Next......Windshield leak.....went to a local automotive glass shop that deals in a lot of Street Rods........In and out in a half hour.....(Hopefully Fixed)......Got the console started....Tomorrows project....
I also ordered a portable programmer to play with the ECM.....went to the Tech and he got the systems talking to each other.....then he had to download the info back to the Mfg and they sent a couple of tunes back for downloading into the car...I'll leave that to the experts........ The radio I'm putting in the car (more on this later) has a back-up camera among other things, got the camera installed and wired back to front......also made and installed a neutral safety switch.....whew!!.... Look closely.......First of many bugs splattered on the windshield....LOL http://i13.photobucket.com/albums/a2...t/DSC02197.jpg The tape is from the glass guy's resealing the windshield....and the windshield wipers are now hooked up and working http://i13.photobucket.com/albums/a2...t/DSC02199.jpg The back-up camera mounted below the license plate http://i13.photobucket.com/albums/a2...t/DSC02201.jpg Ken |

Re: 37 Ford LS2 Continuation thread
Two days till Power Tour.............Started off the day getting the dash medallion machined and installed....
http://i13.photobucket.com/albums/a2...t/DSC02207.jpg http://i13.photobucket.com/albums/a2...t/DSC02208.jpg I also decided that to make a dash to floor console would make the area seem too confined.........so.....Here's a sequence of build pic's......the sides will be installed tomorrow, get wrapped in leather and installed.......... http://i13.photobucket.com/albums/a2...t/DSC02205.jpg http://i13.photobucket.com/albums/a2...t/DSC02206.jpg http://i13.photobucket.com/albums/a2...t/DSC02210.jpg http://i13.photobucket.com/albums/a2...t/DSC02211.jpg http://i13.photobucket.com/albums/a2...DSC02215-1.jpg http://i13.photobucket.com/albums/a2...DSC02216-1.jpg http://i13.photobucket.com/albums/a2...t/DSC02217.jpg http://i13.photobucket.com/albums/a2...t/DSC02223.jpg Ken |
Re: 37 Ford LS2 Continuation thread
