This early Hemi powered Charger show car recently sold for
1 million dollars at the RM Monterey auction!

Re: And now for something completely different

[b] Saw this at a car show on the island over the weekend. Car was built by Beverly Hills Mustang
of Ca, who was licensed by Ford to build 50 Mustang Rancheros, also known as "Musteros"
They converted a Mustang coupe into a two-seater by shortening the roof, moving it forward
and removing the trunk.
It is believed only 10 were sold in the US. At this time you could by a Shelby cheaper
than the conversion, so not many were sold here.
The unknown balance of the cars actually built were sold and shipped to Australia and Europe.
At this time there are only 4 known Beverly Hills Mustang Rancheros remaining in the US.
This car, which belongs to Frank Herbert Jr. of Baldwin, NY, was in storage for about 30 years.
The pony interior was restored, the hi-po 289 was rebuilt and the car was repainted in its
original color of Springtime Yellow.

Glenn,

Thanks for posting those Mustang pics. That has to be the
oddest conversion I've ever seen. Kind of makes you wonder
why they'd want to do something like that in the first place https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...lins/dunno.gif

Nuch

Re: And now for something completely different

[b] Went to "The Buck" on Saturday night for something a little different. Normally they run the tractor
pulls and monster trucks every weekend, but every 4th of July they have a demo derby and fireworks.
Not having been there before it was a little different then I had expected. The track was only about
50 feet wide and they had the demo area contained to about 100 feet. I haven't been to a demo
in years, and had never seen one in this small an area, or so many heats with this small an amount
of cars. But not to worry, they got going fast enough to bash the crap out of each other!

[b] Found these the other day - I believe they are from the early eighties,
at a demo held at Roosevelt Raceway.

Glenn, That locomotive your dad is standing next to is a Union Pacific 4-8-8-4 Big Boy. They had 25 built to run the steep mountain grades of eastern Utah & western Wyo.
Were you born with a camera around your neck? https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...lins/laugh.gif https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...lins/laugh.gif
