Re: My SCR7 two cents

Yes, that is a definite possibility. Similar to the '67 Yenko Camaro's that were 'converted' by Harrell.

Marlin,im trying to get a clear pic of the wheels on the deuce. they honestly dont look like hurst wheels to me. the outer edge of the wheel is not the same thickness of a hurst trim ring. they look more like a keystone mag. im really want to learn more about hurst doing the conversion. I cant figure why hurst would get involved putting on a hood tach and some striping. Didnt the deuces all came from the factory with the LT1 and 410's? what else did hurst do to the cars?? From what ive read about yenkos,Don paid kids to stripe the 69's,no? It just dont seem cost effective to me. Is there any hurst or yenko memos on this subject?? https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...ins/3gears.gif im just trying to learn. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...lins/beers.gif

Don, When I heard that at the re-union about Hurst I was puzzled also. Believe me, I don' pretend to know much at all about what Don Yenko did. Maybe the last batch of cars were higher priced because of the extra expense at Hurst. Maybe Hurst got them because Yenko couldn't sell them! Maybe GM asked Hurst to help them market these cars. Maybe they should be COPO deuces with a Hurst badge. Or maybe we should call them the......Jack Douglass deuces. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...ns/naughty.gif https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/no.gif

Re: My SCR7 two cents

The late build blue deuce that Dave Belk bought from the original owner in Souix city Ia. that was sold from Kidder Kneffler was sent direct from Hurst to the dealer. Most likley my SF yellow deuce was also on that transport, as Cedar Rapids would be on the way. Dave had transport documents to show it was a direct shipment.
The Hurst equiped emblem on the left rear of the trunk was added by Dave. They sold them at local speed shops all over back"in the day". I almost put one on mine way back then before I even knew of the Hurst connection. Schonye

Don & belair62

I believe the wheels are Keystone "Rouges" Very rare wheel to find today because not many sold. Not 100% sure on the spelling.

Re: My SCR7 two cents

So GM sent them to Hurst for a Yenko fit out? https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...lins/dunno.gif and they did not add the Hurst emblem, but was later added by the owner? Why didn't Hurst make it a Hurst deuce? https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...s/confused.gif
