Despite Lorettas deminuative size she was capable of handling the car, three accidents were not her fault. She often referred to using the dual gate in manual mode and the car would "dance". She must have been quite a sight, little her in that muscle car. BTW, her husband Thomas did not drive as he had an injury from his US Airforce days that left him in a wheel chair most of the time. |
Here is some dealer memorabilia rounded up by Bob Mercer, including his sales jacket from 1970, a dealer promo plate and dealer emblems in metal and two decals. Along with a rogues gallery photo, Bob on the left.
http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/l...pskqfnknvd.jpg Bob also sent me his sales jacket from 1970 and a brand new key fob. http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/l...pskqfnknvd.jpg [/http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/l...pss3dka7cn.jpg http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/l...pshfvp3zma.jpg http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/l...psbrqhdtsn.jpg |
Jackpot, the memorabilia would be almost impossible to find!!!
She made it “dance” stellar!! Ryan |
----Paul,,, Great couple of days for you. An ambitious project, but then the right person is heading it up. Cant wait to see it completed. I hope that jacket fits as you absolutely have to wear it when you debut this W-30 at MCACN!.......Bill S

The jacket is a little snug, might need o lose 40lbs to get it on. You will probably see it on a mannequin. Polyester pants, wide tie, white patent leather shoes. Paul |

Outstanding photos Paul. Not many would do the investigative work you have done my friend. So cool. My hat is off to you for taking in this project. It has not been for the faint of heart. Was there when you picked it up in Revelstoke. Even then my thoughts were very few would go where you would have to take this. And also not many auto body technicians would be willing, and moreover capable of tackling this project. Mark has seen many firsts with this car. Can hardly wait for the first "nice shape" comment. Rolling on it's own frame today. Looked so nice to see that.

Amazing Paul!!

Enjoyed reading all of this post this morning on your restoration of the "Newfie Rocket"! Some amazing cars have come thru here in Atlantic Canada (I live in New Brunswick) and it's great to see this one getting the resto it deserves and with all the cool documentation to go along with it!

Probably the image that caught Loretta's eye, from the Oldsmobile full-line brochure:
