Re: 1959 Bel Air Winter Project
It's coming along........just a little slow. Been real busy with work. I'll get some pictures up here over the weekend. i'm in the process of wiring the engine & trans right now. The speedo is sent out for an electronic conversion. I should hve the A/C parts this week and have the front accessory drive finished soon as well.
Thanks, Tim |
Re: 1959 Bel Air Winter Project
I spent today wiring, installing the accessory drive, and started installing Dynamat in the 59. Here are a few pics I snapped.

Re: 1959 Bel Air Winter Project
With some inspiration from Ken (and custom parts) I took a few days off from work to make some progress on the 59.
Accessory drive installed and started to install the new A/C parts. I am going to run this in conjunction with the original underdash A/C unit. http://i1043.photobucket.com/albums/...8/044-Copy.jpg http://i1043.photobucket.com/albums/...8/046-Copy.jpg The speedometer came back from Classic Insturments. http://i1043.photobucket.com/albums/...-Copy-Copy.jpg http://i1043.photobucket.com/albums/b437/napa68/047.jpg New motor mount plates. Solved everything! http://i1043.photobucket.com/albums/...8/045-Copy.jpg When I had the trunk mat out of the car to finish the harness for the fuel pump, I found these. Any on you see these before? http://i1043.photobucket.com/albums/...8/050-Copy.jpg Tim |
Re: 1959 Bel Air Winter Project
Tim, did you get a chance to drive the car before/after the sway bar installation? I bet it made a huge difference as I've been messin' around with one of these larger X-frame cars myself and they do tend to kinda wallow around a bit. Especially the 6-cylinder cars because they didn't come with a front sway bar like the V8 models.
