Just got back from going down this rabbit hole –
Video discussing snapshots of people with cars: 1960’s, 1970’s and 1980’s. I was mostly looking to see if I was in there (lol). Didn’t see any civilians that I knew but there are celebrities you will recognize. The music was pretty good, too. I like looking for cool stuff in the background. The fashions are a hoot and it was interesting to see the progression from the 60’s, with bone stock vehicles, vs the 70’s with a lot of Day 2 action. Admittedly, there might have been a young lady or two that stopped me in my tracks. Enjoy. March 2nd, 1942. The location, the caption says, is a Rolls-Royce Merlin factory “in the northwest of England.” Both Spitfires and P51 Mustangs used the Merlin engine. But this photo would be Merlins for the Spitfires. |

As you know, GM started offering Front Disc Brakes on it's cars for the 1967 model year. Ford started 2 years earlier (1965) with limited availability on cars like the Mustang. For some unknown reason Ford added FDB to the 1966 427 R code engine upgrade. FDB weigh more than drum brakes. This was the first time FDB would be available on a mid size Ford |
