Well THAT wasn't fun.

Went to the hospital coughing, shorthness of breath and lo and behold - mild case of COVID-19. Then they said it would have been A LOT worse if it wasn't for the triple vaccines I received.

Stuck in a small room - no window on 02 for 8 days. Yuk! But got past it. Feeling pretty good and every cloud has a silver lining right - lost 6 pounds of weight while in the hospital.

I need a day or two to catch up and get back to my normal posting habits so please bear with me.

Hope you are all well and enjoying your summer. I wouldn't wish my experience on my own worst enemy.

Lee

The Chevelles did not have SS in that area, just the engine size 396. I've never seen a side marker with SS and the engine size. Is this one particular to the full size car SS ? Seems like an aftermarket emblem.

The early 68s had foil inserts just like he mentioned with SS/396. Later like you have noted were just 396 and casted. I dont know how long they ran the foil inserts in '68 but they would peel and fall off so it is not surprising to have been replaced with the later style.

Thanks Lee and Dustin, that's exactly what mine had. Was in surprisingly good shape considering the condition of the rest of the car.
