[ QUOTE ] These are great. Any idea what beach those cars are/were buried at? Looks like McGarrett is busting the Torino Cobra owner. http://i158.photobucket.com/albums/t...Scene/b389.jpg [/ QUOTE ] [b] That's my Torino - down in Chattahoochee Georgia - stayed in that trailer while I was training at Ft. Benning. The beach is in the Carolina's - not sure exactly where - the property owner had put those cars there to stop beach erosion and piss off everyone in town! [/ QUOTE ] Man, that's a beautiful Torino! |

Re: Old Street Scenes
Dog - that is an awesome shot. How would you describe the performance of a 429 SCJ. Any comparables. What were its strengths/weaknesses.
Thanks! https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...lins/beers.gif |

Wow, I have NO idea what this car is! Anyone know? https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...lins/dunno.gif [/ QUOTE ] Looks like a 1953 Packard concept car, but it's actually the personal car of Edward Macauley, Packard's Director of Styling in 1951. Using parts from production Packards and styling ideas from John Reinhart, the Panther was mounted on a 122" wheelbase. In effect, it was a coupe with a shortened body covered by a fixed hardtop. It used parts destined for the 1952 model year including a 1952 bumper, '52 hood crest with 1951 lettering on a 1952 grill, plus a hood scoop that was essentially the same as that which Henney put on the Pan American. Wheel covers were also 1951 and had the Patrician cloisonne center emblems. The engine was a 327 cubic inch Packard straight eight connected to the Ultramatic transmission. The picture posted is slightly updated from the original version, especially with the addition of a hood from a Packard Caribbean. Info is from http://www.1956packardpanther.com/inspiration.html |
