I can't recall seeing one in "street clothes". Non-descript, the uneducated lay person would look and see a full size car with a four speed on the floor.

That is a classic.... Not to be seen in Canada... DAMN

Lee Stewart 07-18-2022 03:44 AM

The early 60s were a time of high horsepower non-descript cars. No stripes. Maybe engine callouts. No hood treatment. No "cutsey" names. The 64 GTO changed all that.

Not too different than the production car. Different rocker panel clading and the addition of the GALAXIE 500 emblems

This is a very special 70 GTO. It is unlike the production cars. Look at the front of the car - compare it to a production car:

The front facia is all one piece while the production cars are two piece. Another promo photo:

I believe it's the same car in both photos. I can see the bumper to fender line on the passenger side in that photo. That bumper fits exceptionally well though, unlike most production cars which makes it less obvious from that far away.

Did a double take on this. For just a second, I thought it was a customized 63 Grand Prix.
Then I saw what looked like a Cadillac emblem on the C pillar (or sail panel).

It may be a custom made emblem for the prototype. This emblem, which looks similiar, was used on the 1969 model:

I'll go back to the original photo and blow it up and post it.

These original tires still remain on my friend's '68 Toronado survivor.
