Re: Ryan Weaver's 1969 Olds Cutlass S W31 Club Coupe
ah... buy those from Bill? Saw his for sale ad the other day, he's a good guy.
My .02... be careful not to over polish/restore those trim pieces if you decide to install them. Putting nicely restored/polished trim on a patina car tends to make the trim pop too much and take away from the aged look the rest of the car has. I've seen it done, tried doing something similar on a car, and it just didn't work as well as I thought. I'd have a hard time drilling and installing the extra trim on a stripped down documented post car, but that is personal preference. |

Thanks for the opinions!
Yea bought off CO, from Bill. I have a while to consider drilling:-) Ryan |

To drill or not to drill.....the purist will always be against you.
It`s all part of putting yourself out there, what to do Dan |
Re: Ryan Weaver's 1969 Olds Cutlass S W31 Club Coupe
Don't lay awake at night:-) I will save all the metal drillings to put it back to stock if needed:-) (JOKE) I like feedback, of all kinds.
But the one area I am felling more and more purist about is the garish hole around the shifter......does anyone have a donor shifter hump for this car for sale? The more I see the original shifter handle and boot the more I want a decent shifter hidden under the original stuff. Ryan |

Get on Classic Oldsmobile.... and ask that question.

Fabrication to those folks is against the law! Most of the time they really suck as Hot Rodders ... TAZ |

Re: Ryan Weaver's 1969 Olds Cutlass S W31 Club Coupe
If you were to put them on I'd leave them the way they are the slight dent adds character to the original car. IMO the car looks great the way it is, but the fun part of this hobby is what peoples personal tastes adds to their cars.

Pete Leathersac: You are the man!!!
Thanks again for the shifter boot, As you know I am very excited to add items to the car that have meaning and this is one of those items!! Ryan |
