Cars, police, and a blond wig: How The Seven-Ups was shot in NYC

Quote:

“You cannot rehearse a chase in the city of New York. Once the police department see what you’re rehearsing, they’re not going to let you do it for real.” That was Randy Jurgensen, one of the stunt drivers in the 1973 thriller The Seven-Ups, talking about the production’s high-risk approach to shooting a car chase, which has now become legendary for its very real speed and danger.

I love the front of that car.

----This ZL1 yellow car was bought by Roger Judski out of that auction, I believe. Have known Roger for around 40 years, and he's been selling Corvttes throughout that period just outside Orlando. Great guy!....Bill S

Roger had been trying to buy the yellow ZL-1 for years before the 1991 auction, where he then paid what was considered a stunningly huge amount of money for it,$300,000.

Duel! Man, I remember being freaked out by that movie when I was a kid. Made me leery of large trucks growing up, lol.

The original tires on the 1972 Hurst/Olds were Goodyear Polysteel G60-14s. Good luck in finding a set of those.

There was a 1972 HO Festival convertible on BaT recently with its original Polysteel spare. I believe the only cars to ever have these were the 1972 HO's. The only time I ever see these is as a spare in a 1972 HO.
