Is this a flying dinosaur?

Actually no. It's a Pterodactyl. Part of the Pterosaurs family. They were flying reptiles - not dinosaurs.

When they say dinosaurs evolved into birds - it had nothing to do with flight per se.

The Mosasaurus. One of the largest creatures to inhabit the oceans back in prehistoric times. But he wasn't as big as Hollywood would have us think. About the same size as a Whale Shark - 60 feet give or take. Not the 100 portrayed in movies. BTW - he's not a dinosaur either. He's an aquatic squamate reptile and closely related to Komodo Dragons.

Another Hollywood embellishment: Velociraptors. No they were not human size. About the same size as a turkey. But VERY smart and deadly. They learned to hunt in packs. Something not found amoung other dinosaur predators.

I've seen this car at the Simeone Auto Museum in Philadelphia. Even got to see Dr. Simeone drive it around on one of their Demo days.

I'll share something I have been toying with:

I am thinking about throwing down the gauntlet and challenging this car to a best two out of three run during the Dream Cruise. Maybe as a subset of the M1 Concours activities.

Just a couple kids fooling around on Woodward in their Dad's old cars.

We could bill it as "the Black Ghost" vs "the Black Goat".

nelson carter "super chief" lived here in oklahoma and for many years in pawhuska where i spent a lot of time. he was a good friend of one of my life long best friends and his ex wife was my friends sisters best friend and actually they had the same name. we were at the country club every friday and nelson and i were talking about his drag racing days. he mentioned his last car got burned up and i asked what happened to the mach 1 flopper that he raced against and he said it was in his garage and ended up selling it to me. (body only). sadly nelson ended up in prison and i dont know if he is out now or not.
