The name of this color is Pagoda Green. Does that look like a shade of green to you? https://i.postimg.cc/YqzFtxT0/screenshot-10261.png Same car only this time in direct sunlight |

One of eight built by Bill Stroppe for Mercury's assault on A/FX. A/FX did not require 100 copies to be built like Super Stock did. Plus Mercury did not want to compete with Ford's Thunderbolt. A few of these Comets came with the 427 SOHC engine. Most famous was the one driven by Dyno Don https://i.postimg.cc/x1SJkjX6/547681.jpg Each Cyclone received bumpers, fenders, hood, trunk lid and doors made of fiberglass. Plexiglas side windows replaced factory glass, shaving weight from the car's greenhouse. Modifications continued inside, with lightweight bucket seats and a fiberglass filler panel in place of the rear bench. Below the body, the chassis was altered to include custom traction bars, Ford's bulletproof 9-inch rear axle and a pair of racing slicks mounted to Cragar wheels. |

I was teasing my truck bretheren one time about pickup truck colors, where Chevrolet = "Black", GMC = "Tuxedo Black" and Cadillac = "Black Diamond". Not long after that I was in the Cadillac studio and noticed a storyboard on the wall for a new product, describing the target demographic: salary range, what kind of watch they wore, what kind of cigars they smoked, etc. The color of the vehicle? Black Diamond. I laughed out loud. I was like "I was just being facetious!". I remember during the Volt program we were in the parking lot looking for a particular vehicle that was "Silver Topaz", which is BLUE. I had the hardest time getting my managers to focus on looking for a blue vehicle, rather than silver. And then, of course, the signature color for 2011, which was "Veridian Joule". That name was established via a contest, which a regular (non-design studio) employee won. My names for colors tend toward things like "Baby Poop Pea Green Metallic", or "Buick Racing Beige", which is why I was never in marketing. K |

Sorry this is a pic of a pic |

there are a lot of vehicles made without a way to attach a front license plate, and that won't pose a problem in California anymore. It's now legal in California to get a vinyl wrap sticker of your plate from License Plate Wrap, and not drill into the bumper anymore to attach a frame |
