Re: Ryan Weaver's 1969 Olds Cutlass S W31 Club Coupe
Stefano put me in contact with a friend who had a fine fan shroud correct for my car.
Thanks Stefano! I pick it up in November:-) Ryan https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/pics...1562-image.jpg https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/pics...1563-image.jpg https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/pics...1564-image.jpg https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/pics...1565-image.jpg |

"Our daughter is more than impressed with you Ryan. She keeps reminding us how important it is that you bought the car rather than a collector of many cars, and that you are local. We will get to see the car again.
Thank you so much for the magazines and for taking the initiative to have the article written. Al had fun showing his brother and sister and her husband this past weekend as well. We are very proud of it and pleased that you are sharing this with us. Lynn" I copied a nice e-mail (above) from Lynn, "More than Just A Car" Ryan |

Re: Ryan Weaver's 1969 Olds Cutlass S W31 Club Coupe
I am working on a plan to bring my W-31 back to life.
I plan to remove the front clip intact and the body disturbing as little as possible. This way I can restore/rebuild the frame, suspension, brakes, drivetrain, cooling system, fuel system, steering, etc. anything below the car. Dan Vasic shared some links recently to get me thinking:-) I liked this link the best, except I would use something other than 4 X 4's seems a little risky. Yes I realize buying a shop and a hoist would be nice but that would add a decade to the resto:-( Ryan http://www.buickperformanceclub.com/70GSConv.htm |
Re: Ryan Weaver's 1969 Olds Cutlass S W31 Club Coupe
Ryan,
Long before I had my lift.....I did dozens of cars using my 4X4`s.....Trust me, they are plenty strong. I still have my 4x4`s, they are all banged up from years of use....I would still use them today, If I had to. Dan |
Re: Ryan Weaver's 1969 Olds Cutlass S W31 Club Coupe
I will import your tested 4 X 4's:-)
Ryan Thanks again for always finding time to respectfully support us amateurs as we muck about!!! Keep the cheap old school ways of getting work done coming!!!!! |
Re: Ryan Weaver's 1969 Olds Cutlass S W31 Club Coupe
wood fence beams would work well and are a lot thicker. The GS resto was really neat to thumb through. Cant wait for you to start yours.

Ryan ,
I have done a few with the old blocks and 4x4's until my hoist, rotisserie and body cart came along. Never once had an issue! |
