A couple observations about this photo:

a) Pontiac Motor Division was formed in 1926, so at the time of Mac's retirement in 1982 that would be 56 years.

Mac had been there 45 years, so fully 80% of the division's entire existence.

b) I always thought the intake was some special casting with the carburetors integrated together, but this makes it look more like a separate aluminum shield added, with some airflow characteristics designed in.

----I think the picture was taken at the St. Johns Concours outside Detroit. Beautiful setting, but although I'm not sure , I think the venue may be changed this year. There's ocean racing on the Saint Clair river ten minutes from me on the same weekend so I generally miss the concours. Really wish one of the two events would change thier date!.....Bill S

----Now I think this might be Amelia Island, but not sure of this either!

The Davis was a cool car. I had never heard of them before. One day I went to a friends house to hang out. He was a major car guy. He said "hey look what I bought". It was a Davis! I got a chance to check it out. Unfortunately I didn't take any pictures. He sold it shortly after.
