KenMaisano 07-26-2017 12:42 AM

Primer we have been working nonstop to get the chassis and engine built for the last 6 months. It will be a show car for MCACN.

COPO CARTEL 07-26-2017 02:40 AM

No just a couple 1/8 mile hits at a So Cal track.

COPO CARTEL 07-26-2017 11:41 AM

Kenny since the car is there and you guys get there today you might want to see if they have a test and tune tonight (Wednesday) ???

big gear head 07-26-2017 11:56 AM

I think test and tune is just on Tuesday. https://www.beechbend.com/dragstrip/racing-schedule/

ANDY M 07-26-2017 04:08 PM

Good chance of rain for Friday, pray for sunshine. Nothing like 90 degree heat with 100% humidity.
See y'all there.
Andy

Gears are changed, fuel pump is changed, all of the oils are changed and the valves are adjusted. I'm trying to borrow an enclosed trailer due to the weather forecast. All I have to do is load it up and get on the road.

Im ready.. Trailering it up in the rain here in TN but weather is looking to be a little more favorable in BG for tomorrow..

Sorry for the crappy pic but it was dark out and this is the best I could do to lighten it up.

bbbentley 07-27-2017 01:52 PM

Hope you have a great, safe, trouble free time Darrell.

big gear head 07-27-2017 02:25 PM

Due to events that have happened over the last 8hrs I will not be racing tomorrow.. Needless to say the day Ive had with all the signs I have been given I need to stay in TN. IF I go it will be later on in the day to watch. Wish everyone the best.

COPO CARTEL 07-28-2017 11:52 AM

PxTx 07-28-2017 09:50 PM

We ended up having some fun. Scott & Ken made the best of the time between rain drops for all of us!

Xplantdad 07-28-2017 11:10 PM

Yep...there are some videos on Facebook already :)

big gear head 07-29-2017 12:33 PM

Yeah, I found out last night that they got a few passes in later. I had already left the track.

cwc 07-29-2017 03:03 PM

I can't thank the Mascar guys enough for getting track back open after rainout.Darell,Greg and I made all the passes we wanted! Which was our main objective for the weekend

Xplantdad 07-30-2017 12:34 AM

The MASCAR guys all rock!

nugeusa1 07-30-2017 01:26 AM

just wanted to say thank you to everyone involved with this great event , we are so lucky that you all shared these special cars with with us. great cars but better people! thnks again , Greg

COPO CARTEL 07-30-2017 10:58 AM

It was a great event with even better people...the weather did not work in our favor for the track day ...but thanks to Scott Tedro of Mascar ...he saw an opportunity and opened up the sky for some racing to be done !! The BBQ was a success serving over 60 people on Thursday night ...we ran out of food .. so that tells you how good Jason can cook. On Friday at the banquet we served over 80 people and had just enough food ...as always Natalies food was amazing.... as far as the banquet itself we gave away over $12,000 in door prizes which is a new record for us . I would like to thank and congratulate Freddy Byars for winning the motor as well as gift certificates ...taking home over $5000 himself as the grand prize winner. Thanks everyone.

sYc 07-30-2017 03:10 PM

Another awesome weekend. A big THANK YOU to everyone who pitched in the make it go so smoothly, and of course to everyone who attended.

Nice pic.

big gear head 07-30-2017 06:46 PM

I was feeling pretty down Thursday night when I got to the BBQ late due to a wreck on the parkway and missed out on the food, and then on Friday when I was standing in the trailer watching the rain fall, but my mood changed to the other extreme on Friday night when my name was drawn for the gift certificates and the crate engine. A big thanks goes to Bob McClurg for the work that he did rounding up the engine and other prizes, and Doug and all of the others (sorry, I'm still trying to learn names) that worked hard to put the whole event on. Maybe I can sort out the problems with my car and make some good runs next year.

Craig_Maiorana 07-30-2017 07:04 PM

Beyond thankful

Well fella's ... I have to say this did not feel like a business trip to me. I had an absolutely amazing time. To meet a group of people and to just be able to blend in and talk and laugh like we have known each other for years made me feel completely at home. The hospitality that everyone showed was just mind blowing. Congrats to Freddy for taking home the crate engine and a handful of gift certificates. . . Thank you to Doug, Ken. S, Dennis, Jaime, Rusty and yes even Andy and Howie lol for making me feel like one of the boys. It was a time to remember.

RST 07-30-2017 09:41 PM

Hello everyone, we at Mascar had a blast, there were challenges, but we all worked together and overcame them. The BBQ was delicious ……… WOW that alone was worth the trip. Everybody at this event are wonderful car loving people and everyone was friendly and welcoming. Lots of cool cars, and we were able to work with the track owner (thank you Doug) and convinced him to reopen the track for a few hours, as it was very important that we got our runs in on the Mr. Deplorable 1969 Rambler Scrambler. We have a very small window to get the car dialed in before we have to tear it down and create a show car out of it. If we were not able to get those passes in, we may not have had time to get the car finished in time for the MCACN event, it will be challenging enough as it is. Well we got 3 passes in and hit our numbers, best pass 9.20 145 mph. Our goal was to build a high 8 second car and we are right there, we need to make a few minor adjustments and we will be in the 8.50- 8.70 range at sea level all natural. Thank you all once again, looking forward to next year ………… Doug ………… I am thinking about having Kenny, Adam, Bret, Dennis and the gang build us a Nostalgic Jet Engine Drag Car for next year ………….. OH Shit!

Xplantdad 07-30-2017 09:56 PM

Very cool stuff...thanks to everyone for sharing!:youguysrock:

Craig_Maiorana 07-31-2017 01:58 AM

And also Drew his wife, Jay, Freddy and his buddy Tim ... and ford Andy .. there were that many good people there

COPO CARTEL 07-31-2017 12:41 PM

Thank you all for the kind words and for the event it was a challenge but we all work together and made the best of what was given to us once again thank you on behalf of the staff
