Nice
Are you going to have any rubber mounts for the radiator? There are some flex going on in the radiator support that can crack the radiator eventually if it is mounted solid to the support. Jan |
Re: Next Years Power Tour Car Part 2
Jan........No Rubber as I only drive on perfectly smooth roads...............LOL

Re: Next Years Power Tour Car Part 2
Got the fan assy permanently mounted and ready to go.......Heater and intercooler hoses next on the list...... Ended up with 1" of clearance in the tightest spot..........

Re: Next Years Power Tour Car Part 2
It was getting to the point of having to get the fenders and inner panels in so I could see how much room I had for mounting the Intercooler pump and to finish up the A/c lines.......along with getting the engine wiring in place........So.....I threw some sheet metal at it today......

Re: Next Years Power Tour Car Part 2
Well.......We are getting to the point of making a mess of a decent job so far.........A/C lines.....Power Steering lines and Reservoir......Inter Cooler Pump and lines....... Heater hoses.......Lines all over and no neat way to get there........Oh well........It's a garage built driver and it is what it is.........I'll order heat shrink clamps for all the water lines and get them sealed up....

Wrecked and totaled...........No other info........ |
Re: Next Years Power Tour Car Part 2
A buddy of mine owns a body shop. I've spent a good deal of time there working on my cars (paint booth etc) and I sometimes help with the towing part of his shop. He told me 99% of the time a car is rolled, it's totaled, but often leaves the drive train intact. Maybe a possibility with this one.

Looked at some pic's from the listing and it looks like the car was a roll over..... Ken |
Re: Next Years Power Tour Car Part 2
There was a identical one out here at a dealer that a guy took on a test drive and rolled it on the freeway onramp.

Re: Next Years Power Tour Car Part 2
After getting most of the Engine compartment "Stuff" hooked up.......I got the Intercooler system filled and Bled.....So I decided to install the rest of the sheet metal so I can get the ECM and forward wiring system installed.......Starting to look like a car again...........

When this one is done in a few days, there is plenty of time to build another one before the 2014 Power Tour. |

Re: Next Years Power Tour Car Part 2
I'm just feeling very inadequate since Ken will have built a Pro Touring car in the time I've taken dithering over WHICH PARTS TO ORDER for a car I've owned for several years. Gee, thanks Ken, Merry F'n Christmas to you too.

Re: Next Years Power Tour Car Part 2
I don't know how I missed this thread but I just read all 28 pages. Impressive and inspiring sums it up. I am in the middle of a 2009 LY6 6.0 with a 4L80 swap into my 71 Nova. I was thinking of using Speartech for my harness and your thread solidified that. I don't know what half the stuff I unplugged is. I am hoping making my B&M Prostick from the old TH350 work with the 4L80 goes as easy as your adaptation did. There are so many little things to address it is overwhelming. Your car turned out beautiful.
|
Re: Next Years Power Tour Car Part 2
John at Speartech takes 99.9 % of the difficulty and fear of switching to the LS platform out of the picture......
Ken |
Re: Next Years Power Tour Car Part 2
"And"........I would appreciate it if the person who took my Horns would return them so I could get the front wiring finished..........Just Say'in........
