Being retired Navy, Sam's used to hand polishing knobs and stuff... Looks good though I must admit.

2. It can get lonely at sea https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...s/rolleyes.gif

Thanks Chuck - Schonye will have to chime in on his source and cost for this repop cap. (Be advised - i asked Schonye to save a number of projects for me to restore including this cap). Restorable caps? some of the folks like Jason "SuperNovaSS" will have to weigh in on this.

I may have a few laying around. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...lins/smile.gif Sam, the cap came out great! Nice job!

Re: Roof Deuce Restoration

Any one taken one of these rad. caps apart before? I did a pressure check on my originial and it would not hold pressure. I would like to rebuild it. The rubber seal/gasket is still flexible and appears to be in nice shape, but it is compressed flatter as compared to my repro.

Any guidance is appreciated. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...lins/beers.gif

Re: Roof Deuce Restoration

Chuck, the repo cap came from Ron Norman, at McHenry Classics in IL. I can get you a nbr if you need it. I don't remember what the cost was.

The stainless RC26 15# cap is available from GM for $8.43 on GMPartsdirect. The part number is 6410206. It looks good for the money. Earl

Thanks DC! https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...iggthumpup.gif I'll be sportin' this fine addition off the front bumper at SCR12. As I told Schonye, he better get Becky some help to man (woman) the telephones as it'll be ringin' off the hook with advertising like this! https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...lins/laugh.gif

Beeeutiful car. Likely as good as new, maybe even better!! https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...iggthumpup.gif

Dare I ask, I went back and read through all 13 pages but didn't find it. What is the build date of the body, 05D, 06A or 06B?

The car does look better than new!! I also can't wait to see it again. And at least I don't have to see that empty space in the garage any more. We filled that space today with a new project (one that's much more realistic for us). Took the truck and trailer down to Maryland and hauled home a 72 Nova. When I pulled my car in the garge tonight and saw the back end of the "new" nova in front of me it was almost like old times. And there's rubber on the road in front of the house again!! https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/no.gif https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...ins/3gears.gif https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/no.gif

Sam, It was the oldest kid, Earl. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/no.gif https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...lins/crazy.gif By the time our boys showed up to check out the new find the car was already hiding in the garage. They'll probably get their turn tomorrow. Not sure when I'll try it out, probably after the new life insurance policies are written!! Will post a few pics as soon as I can find some time.

Engine bay is nearly finished. Just a little more dum-dum in a spot or two (thanks for the heads up Sammy https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...mlins/wink.gif ). I received some great input https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...iggthumpup.gif from Jack Seymour, Schonye, Bill Hodel, and Charley Lillard (great survivor Z28 website Charley https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...mlins/cool.gif) on the plumbing/routing of my TCS system. I received and installed my last few components needed to finish my smog system from Bill Hodel (nice fellow to work with - great product)...

I was under the impression for awhile that this junction was a 3-way Tee https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...mlins/hmmm.gif until the smart guys set me straight. Bill Hodel had an original 4-way connector to finish my TCS set up...
