Darren, I don't think the large font "5" appeared until later production. In other words, they had not yet broken or lost the correct sized "5". https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...lins/dunno.gif

Charley,
Is there insulation on the under side of the hood?? Also do you have a photo of the canister and line clip on the drivers inner fender??? Thanks https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...ns/worship.gif https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...ns/worship.gif |
Re: really cool 70 Z28..simply the best.
It was sold brand new in Illinois,so it won't have the EEC NA-9 details you are referring to.
1970 Vehicles that sold brand new in the state of Calif. had to be fitted for that, not just assembled there. |

Wow, my LA built Z28 was built about a week earlier (03B). I wonder if it has a buildsheet tucked in the right front fender?

Re: really cool 70 Z28..simply the best.
It is amazing... just like what I am sure is a Chassis build sheet on the rear... like john Z said... all the sub assemblies subframe, rears, body, front sheet metal, etc... had build sheets taped to them, when the cars went together the sheets were supposed to be pulled off and disposed of...
They left so much on this one that if you threw a Just Married sign in the window, it would have been right at home leaving a church as an assembly line! BUT CAN I HAVE IT!!! PLEASE? https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...ns/worship.gif |
Re: really cool 70 Z28..simply the best.
I'm confident that some of the same "build Sheets" etc.. were left on other cars. They just didn't Survive like this one.

Re: really cool 70 Z28..simply the best.
That's 4 build sheets and counting..........
|
Re: really cool 70 Z28..simply the best.
Very nice find indeed. Observation: Looks like the deck lid emblem is mounted in a different position compared to where the stripes are on this car compared to the assembly manual stripe measurements and where the mounting holes are on the underside of the lid. Maybe the underside hole positions changed throughout the year on some lids for the emblem.
Phil may want to comment. |
