No quite correct. When I owned # 3 I bought the engine for # 26 from Jim Stubbins who bought it from Porterfield after Porterfield could not get a trade done. I tried to work a trade with 26 owner but was a waste of time. I then put the engine for 26 into # 3 figuring someday someone would get it done. Before that # 3 had a different engine in it that I think I sold to Kevin Suydam.

Do you believe the #26 engine is still in #3?

The engine in #3 when Billie P owned it was a clone of what was to be the street ZL-1; L-72 internals.

Always interesting how different parts get valued,
$4500 distributors, $400 fuel line support brackets,$3000 carbs
but a complete engine is worth less than what? $10,000 $ 15,000!

I paid 20k for the # 26 engine.

What year did that happen Charley?

The BLT is starting to get stale..........
