When you look at the mat, there are also sound deading mats placed on the trunk floor, similar to the sound deading mats found on the floor pans under the carpets..BKH

I do know the Sound deading is not present.

Mike, unless the car came with deluxe interior the additional sound deadening shouldn't be there. I suspect a previous owner installed mat at some point.

Ok Steve thanks. The mat just looks like it been there for a while.maybe pulled from another car at some point.Are there date codes on the mat?

It's been my experience in the past that cars with trunk mats are very prone to rust. Moisture gets trapped under the mat and has no way to escape. If it were my car, the mat would be removed and stored. IMO...BKH
