Yup. A bunch of self importants just like the old folks at the Bullet.

I actually know some of you people, but at this point I really hate to admit it.

That's the car! It was called Village Standard then, on the corner of Greenleaf & Busse rd. in Elk Grove Village Illinois. I have been working there since Jan. of 1972.

I changed the name to Bill's Village Marathon when I purchased it in 1985, and changed gas suppliers to Marathon.

Did you live or work in the area? rsatz28? Rob Satzke owner of Quality Towing back in the day by chance?

Neat old photos! The black 68 Charger even has the National Hemi Owners Association vanity plate. Awesome cars.

Where was that photo of your black car taken? That black Superbird next to your car looks familiar. I think I've seen it before.

Neat parking lot pic... my high school car was only a 440 Magnum powered Polara... https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...lins/blush.gif Neat car tho!

The meet picture was taken in San Antonio, at North Side Stadium IIRC. The car belongs to a friend in Austin, and was briefly seen in a movie called "4th of July" (I believe that was the name).

I am having ISP connection problems, so please be patient if I am slow to reply...

Bill,

Right family, but my older brother started/owned Quality. We moved to EG in 68, and my Dad still lives by the HS. You most likely know my Dad. He was the licensing officer for the village for about 10 yrs, before he retired 5-6 yrs ago

I remember your Hemi RR sitting in the corner @ the Standard Station like it was yesterday. My friends and I would comment about "that Hemi" that we would see as we drove around the EG.

I had a 68 400 Dark Green Firebird from 73 to 79, and a friend had a dark green 383 Super Bee & another friend had a 383 RR.

Rob
