As long as the weather permits the resto shop will prep the bottom of my Cutlass tomorrow and roll her in the booth for Black Paint, and body Schulz in the rear wheel wells, and Glade Green on the bottoms of the quarters. (Like Code 57 but he had to make a custom colour to match the old paint)

Rims are painted, jack hook and base are painted.

Hole (Tach) in the top of the hood is repaired, and the hole in the structure on the bottom of the hood is repaired. The whole bottom of the hood has been prepped and painted the green (miscommunication as the painter back in the day went crazy with green overspray) and now they will scuff and paint the bulk of it Black so it looks the same as the big kids with thier overspray :-) I don’t plan to install an under-hood insulation pad but the remains of one was all over the underside of the hood.

The Phoenix Graphix stripes have arrived and they will install after buffing the hood. (he says the buffer would not be a good idea close to the stripes)

Saturday June 23rd is body on the frame day.....

I feel like today my Cutlass S W31 Chassis Restoration peaked!!!

Everything to this point has felt like it was the up hill part of the journey, and today I feel like my project crested the resto-hill.

The bottom of my car is so beautiful all media blasted and seal sealed 🙂 Ziebart saved this car!!!

I have such a tremendous muscle car support network, and I try to show my appreciation.

The restoration shop working on the car is doing a great job and working with me to make things as correct and cost effective.... (those are sometimes not mutually exclusive) Thank You!

Dan V. Is always always always helping me.... last night he was texting me way past bedtime. (You need your beauty sleep my friend:-) Dan knows what I am going to do wrong years in advance, and helps steer the plans and actions to the best ways!!! Thank You!

Mascar, (Scott Tedro) made the work at the resto shop an option by “sponsoring” from afar. Thank You!

Terry R (RamblerDealer) has become a close friend and he always helps me at the drop of a hat, if I need a special socket.... (by the way I need to give. Ack your sockets) if part of my car needs to go on a journey, or if I am just completely stuck in a rut (drum brakes and Tim Hortons coffee)

Shane P. (Oldsy) is always sending me info, or keeping me motivated with words of wisdom from a fellow Ontario W31 restoration club member :-) Several times Shane has driven way far to my place to help me with a project and this makes my restoration progress possible (I am a rookie!) Thank You!

Al and Lynn Stager. (Original Owners) are always at the ready to chat, or share stories or have a visit. They have firmed up plans to be part of the MCACN 2018 W31 Invitational Showcase. They are so excited to see the progress and have no idea how much thier old car has made me a happy guy!

Happy Guy-Ryan W31 :-)

Saturday June 23rd 2018.

Body on the frame day!

Brody from the restoration shop.
Terry (RamblerDealer) will bring the rolling chassis to and the “car” home.
Shane (Oldzy) will help and photo to epic event.
Al Stager (original owner) will put the bolts in to mate the body and the frame.

I am freaking out!!!

Ryan W31.

Progress a-go-go!!!!

The bottom is black and the bottom of the hood is finished.

They polished the hood bulges to get ready for the stripes. (I like the shine and I like the patina)

These guys are doing great!!

Progress on the daily :-)

I made a mad dash to ole red alert’s last night to pick up a few parts I wanted to install before the body goes back on the frame.

I swapped the Clutch fork and installed the z bar again... each time getting closer to stock.

I started looking at the OEM shifter Nick Morocco rebuilt recently.

The resto shop will have the hood stripes on tomorrow and may paint the bottoms of the quarters tomorrow..... they body schutz’ed the rear wheel wells.

Getting closer and closer.

Ryan
