I think the Powerglide is also heavier than the 4-spd. He may have had to lose some weight to stay in B/S.

No, a Glide is so light it has to be tied down or it will start to float away.

Actually, the engineering specs state to add 105lbs to the curb weight with a Powerglide over the standard 3-spd.

And yes, that's an aluminum 'glide.
