Ohio Gov. Mike DeWine on Thursday, Oct. 21, 2021, unveiled the new "Sunrise in Ohio" license plate in Columbus, Ohio. Ohio's new license plate failed to take off after the illustration of a banner in flight was attached to the wrong end of the Wright Brothers' first plane. The new plate's banner reads "Birthplace of Aviation." The banner should have been trailing behind the plane but was attached to the front.

The 1966 GT40 MK II 427 engines used aluminum heads to cut down the weight. As this car was built specifically for top end tire testing, that could be one of the 427 Cobra LeMans engines. It was Shelby who originally wanted the lighter weight heads for his assault on LeMans. It also looks like the engine has an aluminum water pump - also used on the MK II engines.

The aluminum heads were never made available to the general public as O-T-C performance items. Strictly used for racing.

not a myth, although the P-38 didn't actually break the sound barrier....came close and as it did so, it encountered compressability which caused the airplane to tuck. The tail did depart, but not so much from the speed, but from the corrective action taken to recover from the tuck.
