Had a heart to heart with my hunny and We agree this is piss or get off the pot time!
Nov 17/18 is fast approaching so I have one local shop looking at my car Wednesday and a local fabricator looking at my car Thursday. Hopefully one is a good fit to do the minor metal work needed so I can get the body back on the frame!!! Ryan I chatted with Terry RamblerDealer and Stephen Minore to get ideas and recommendations!! Thanks guys!! |
So the last couple days have been fruitful.
Two shop owners have been in to estimate work on my car. Both I feel very confident could do the work. First shop does all restoration work, so they could do the metal work and paint the bottom of the car as well as lower the body onto the frame to make a roller. Good rate, Good credentials. Second shop does metal work only, good shop rate, Good credentials. I gave a ridiculously detailed scope of work document to the first shop and I am awaiting an estimate. The second shop gave an estimate on site which jived with what I have in my head. I need to get the body back on the frame to progress! I really enjoy this whole process and I am learning about cars, and about myself. Ryan |

Now I need to hide the hole in the front fender..... Ryan W. |
I had a nice chat with the Stager family last night to get them up to speed on our car.
I let them know about MCACN in November and hope they would be able to make the trip. As there are already a couple original owners in the W31 invitational Showcase Al would fit right in:-) If the stars align I will do whatever I can to help them attend. Ryan W. |
Ryan did u make a decision on who will finish the bottom of your car?
|
Still sorting that out:-(
Time is ticking... Ryan |
got a lot of good things going on Ryan that would be cool if they attend the MCCAN in
Nov even better in 2019, take care my friend. Chuck |

I have a great photo of you and your friend and Dan Vasic when I had my car in the barn finds display, let’s recreate it:-) Ryan |
So I have a local shop selected to take my body and replace, repair, the small rust issues, prep and paint the underside. They will also paint my steel wheels, and put the body back on the frame:-)
The shop that does metal work mainly but no paint is most likely going to do some work for Tracker1, there is enough work for everybody :-) Had a nice chat with RamblerDealer and started planning moving around the body, the frame, and the engine/trans. I am so excited to get this monkey off my back...... real progress coming to a build thread near you real soon :-) Ryan |
Sweet! Now remember, Ryan....these threads need anticipation! And if TV has taught me anything, it's that you need to work right up until the deadline (MCACN doors opening) , freak out, yell, throw stuff, and then miraculously.... it'll all work out in the end!! That's how it's supposed to work, right? :hmmm::biggthumpup::dunno:
Looking forward to progress pics!! Cheers:beers: Dave |

The shop owner will drop off his rotisserie this week, early next week I will have to transfer the body from one spit to another. Later in the week Terry and I wil take the body to the shop and get the frame, engine, trans, Bell housing, etc, etc, from the igloo:-)
Excited:-) Ryan Oops I forgot I need to remove the wipers and windshield trim.... |

I have a set of B90 trim on the “pile for Ryan” at Tweed Vorhees:-)
I love B90 trim!! One piece of mine is a little damaged I may mess with it..... Ryan |
I know a guy who fixes trim. One of my B85 pieces had a real sharp crease in it, and when he was done with it, I couldn't tell where it was without looking on the back side of it.
