Speaking of Joie Chitwood . . .

In the 1977 movie Sorcerer directed by William Freidken, he wanted a car crash. After 7 takes, he was not not happy at all. His Director of Photography took him aside and said he knew a guy who could probably pull off what he wanted. "Get him here." Joie showed up, asked Friedken exactly what he wanted. Friedken told him. Joie searched around the set, picked up some scrap lumber, built a small ramp, then got in the car and preformed the stunt - that is the one you see in the movie.

Sorcerer is a remake of the 1953 movie The Wages Of Fear. Very few people have heard about the movie due to it's release date. That was the same year STAR WARS was released. I highly recommend it.

Bill - that's not the car. I did a little digging and that car is a clone - not a real 442. Sorry.

http://phscollectorcarworld.blogspot...e-cutlass.html

When I post a photo of a car, I have no idea if it's a real car or a well made clone. I just look at how the car presents itself in the photo.

This clone has made the rounds for sure. It is claimed as a "special order" automatic trans car which is BS as all 64 442s have a manual trans

I am really ashamed of myself. Visiting Monument Valley is one of the last things on my Bucket List. It's one thing to procrastonate when I was living in Florida. But I live in New Mexico and have for 12 years. It's only one state away. Maybe this fall.

Have you added a Pit Bull, Rottweiler or German Sheperd to your family? If you have you better check your Home Owners Insurance. Many insurance companies will not cover such animals. Normally a dog bite is covered by your HOI. But if you have an "aggressive" breed - you may not be covered. That means no insurance if you are sued due to a dog bite. You are on your own.

All insurance companies are different so check your poilcy.

When you go to monument valley, take a few more days and visit all the other parks near by. There is also capitol reef , arches national park ,bryce canyon , Zions park , canyon lands, dead horse point . All simply spectacular. When you get a sec utube angels crossing zions park.

The last Ford Motor car to get the 427: 1968 Cougar GT-E. Due to the upcoming changes in emissions, the solid lifter cam was dropped in favor of a milder hydralic cam. This resulted in a 20 HP loss for a single 4 BBL: 390 vs 410. Midway through production, the 427 was dropped and the 428 CJ was added. The GT-E was supposed to be the first car that came standard with radial tires: FR70x14. Unfortunately this was not to be so instead it came with F70x14 WSW.

More than a few, that's at least a week there. We spent 1 day in each of Zion and Bryce a few years ago and there was still more to see.

There is a town named Tropic south/east of Bryce on Utah 12. About half way there, there's a pull off for a small stream. Crazy cool place to visit that isn't noted on many travel plans.

The stream flows over Pink rock.

You can blame "The Jet Age" for that.
