I ordered a repro Battery from Antique Auto Battery and it came in Today.........I have a couple of the old Tar Top Acid type in the other cars and they look very good when they are new, but after a while the Tar gets Dirty and Bubbles form between the cells and they just don't look good.....so this time I ordered a "Dry Cell" design......The top looks just like Tar, But it's a Plastic type material will clean up very nicely with Windex and a soft rag......Put it in the Car and I was surprised at the cranking power it has........Very Cool..... https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...iggthumpup.gif https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...iggthumpup.gif to Antique Auto Battery on a job well done.......also got the latest version of the dye for the Interior today......Looks Good!

Re: Biscayne Resto Project

The latest "Batch" of Vinyl Dye was about as close as the first try.....(Not).......Now, Mind you....this is a local Automotive Paint Supplier/Distributor that deals in SEM Vinyl Dye......So I call there today and talk to the counter guy and tell him that it wasn't close and needed to have more of a green/Olive tint to match the Sample that I gave him to mix it to........he said to bring it back and he would add a drop of Blue to the Mix and that should bring it closer....I said "Closer" I don't want it closer, I want it to match..........I don't know anything about mixing paint , but I asked why didn't he check the second batch of Dye against the sample I gave him to mix it to.......He tells me they don't have any way to test spray a sample to check the mix...........I said , "What".....you got to be kidding me......I asked why they couldn't take a sample and brush some on to the sample I gave them and keep working it till it comes out matching.......Anyhow the conversation went downhill from there......Sheesh!!......A professional operation like that and they can't do test panels (Nor want to).........Not that the money matters.....but $65 the first time.....$ 35 for the second....$100 for nothing..........
I finally listened to the "Little Lady" and called Just Dashes ......who Dyed and restored the Door Panels and they had records of the Dye used .........Ordered it from them and it should be here at the end of next week........
The Point being .....that I guess I thought that by dealing with this Local Paint Dealer/ Distributor (Read Proffesional Operation) that this would be a simple thing...They win because they have my $$$.....and I have to start all over again......3 weeks wasted..........Roodhouse is getting farther away instead of closer......

Ken...these yahoos just don't get it...and never will. They have no clue about what real customer service is...

Lucky for you...the lady that holds the purse strings is also a very smart (and enjoyable to be around) person! https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...lins/beers.gif

Ken,

Did you get this material locally? Just wondering if you had tried SMS Auto Fabrics and what they said. Good thing Just Dashes has their act together and will sell you the dye. That local shop can suck monkey butt.

My car had all vinyl seats in it and we found all the original material at a supplier, but when we ordered the material, they realized that there was not enough of one of the colors.......so we decided to dye that color as it was the seat sides and backs.........That's when the Dog and Pony show started and another month has gone by.......It falls into the learning curve of preparing a little better.....I didn't think the seats would be such a Hurdle.......But
Now I ARE Smarter............
