Re: Backyard finds today
Was talking to a guy today that picked up a 69 mustang with a boss 429 (nascar engine 12 of 15)supposedly matching numbers, approx. 4600 miles garage kept. ANY COMMENTS, WHAT'S SOMETHING LIKE THIS WORTH? Not a CJ.

Re: Backyard finds today
Here is a Buick GS I took pictures of while coming home from Long Island one day. I know nothing about Buicks so please educate me! I have been wondering about this car.

Re: Backyard finds today
dunno if the car is legit , but I can tell that rear bumper is worth some serious coin!!! that is a 72 rear bumper as it has the rubber surrounds around the tailight which in itself is is very hard to find the rubbers intact anymore, dont ask me how I learned this https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/no.gif, and kick it up a notch with the ex cut out's, its called SN-95 or something like that, kinda forgetting my Buick stuff at this point, anyway the Buick guys would be flipping out for it.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v4...6/BuickGS3.jpg [/ QUOTE ] It almost looks like it has the "Stage 1" emblem under the "GS" emblem on the front fender.. If it does and it IS a real Stage1 GS.... thats the Buick equalvilant to an LS6 Chevelle. Definitely worth a second look. It's looking a bit neglected https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/no.gif Maybe it can be bought https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...lins/dunno.gif Worth a try. |
Re: Backyard finds today
I know it's a four door, but still looked cool. It has a very deep and eye catching blue and white paint scheme that isn't turning out in the pic, was raining and I had to lighten the pic so much it lost it's deep blue look.
Found in west Tulsa yesterday. http://www.azalea.net/~steved/starchief.jpg |
Re: Backyard finds today
1958 Pontiac. If it only had the 425-A Trophy engine and "Tri-Power" emblems on the fenders. Oh, and two fewer doors.

Re: Backyard finds today
This one is for sale in Jersey City.I was last raced about 10 years ago but is complete as it was raced. It ran 10.0's with the drivetrain that is in it right now,it has a cage that will certify and aside from needing a total go thru and having some rust damage from sitting,it is a very complete car.It come with the home made trailer the entire deal for $2500.It is an all stel except for the hood 327 powerglide car..It has 6.17's in a dana 60 with ladder bars and coil overs and a glide with 7200 stall, and a 9000 rpm 327.I pulled the valve covers off it,and it has all the goods inside.

Here's one that my friend found in a garage through his dad that's been there since 1968, has 9k original miles. Factory tach, 3 on the tree with V8 tags on it, but now has an inline 6 in it???? Think it was an old drag car. Mint, mint, mint.

Re: Backyard finds today
Although not a Yenko or Big Block Corvette, still a good find. My uncle found this a mile from his house for under $300, and a good title. Has a 400 with a Torker intake, 2 4 speeds in the trunk, original paint, and straight as they come. Too bad the front is gone.

http://memimage.cardomain.net/member...75_42_full.jpg http://memimage.cardomain.net/member...75_38_full.jpg The little coupe that the business partner of the guy I purchased my gold RS from was getting ready to paint in a makeshift booth next to his barn. In the barn were several cars, among them a 66 Corvette that been a SCCA race car was being restored to original. There were also several long blocks, one of which was an "MO" motor out of a 67 Camaro. (I now have my doubts that it really was an "MO".) The Camaro pictured above came with front discs but were non-power. It had manual steering, deluxe buckets with headrests (long gone by the time I got there), and a 3spd. He had purchased it from an estate sale. It had been in storage for almost 20 years in a storage locker. |

Here is some odd rigs I found yesterday..most of you will laugh fact is there pretty cool and way ahead of there time these are DKW's they are front wheel drive and sport a 900cc 2 stroke motor in them..yea I said 2 stroke..they are really quick little buggers and being german made are a decent piece..these are pre Audi same Co.... the little red wagon is a 1960 and the van is a 1959..the van is a marvel to look at, he was having trouble with the stock motor..so that was pulled and he pushed in a snow mobile motor did some fabricating and drove all over the place like that for years even up into Canada..the pull start flipped apart one day and it has sat since...
also found a '68 chev scooby doo van that was in the middle of getting a smallblock for power, batts died in the camera before I could get a pic. these two brothers are something else they tweaked everything they owned for speed/hp they were not drag racers just enjoyed the mental challenge of making stuff work better in there eyes...the sad part the older brother drank himself into the grave two years ago and the other guy in the pic is short a little today not sure if it was from taking care of his bro or what...when I could get him to focus and talk he had done some encredible things to share he had done in his life with his brother...I could on for hours telling you stuff...here is some quick pics I took before dragging the buick up the drive and across the street,no keys and locked up tight..blew these guys minds when I slapped a chain on the Buick in the middle and yanked it outa there with the Dodge, a little drizzle made it a little easier https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...mlins/grin.gif and some pics of the basement..it is really cluttered with junk..but down there is a mill, huge lathe..ton of tools and the guy even had his own foundry in the back..the pics did not come out very well but it was a thing of beauty!! if they needed something wild they just made it!! I would have welcomed owl poop over what I had to endure...I hate rats!! wizzin and poopin all over the place!!, the place had been over run with them for years and these guys just lived with them for awhile..ahhh the stink!!!..I think I can still smell them, dang they can wreck stuff in a hurry, YUCK!! http://photobucket.com/albums/b47/bu...Garage%20find/ https://www.yenko.net/attachments/163302-tn_DKW2.JPG |

Found these sitting in Muskogee, and less then 5 minutes after taking the picture I was almost run over by a high speed police chase two streets over, crazy.

Re: Backyard finds today
That poor 70 Charger R/T...some rocket scientist bolted a 70 Plymouth Superbird wing on it. You can tell it's a bird wing by the fact that it overhangs the rear of the car by about a foot. A Daytona wing is almost straight up vertical https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/no.gif
