My friend Eddie came by & helped me set the fenders & header panel today. Still lots of adjustments to make. Locked the doors so I would'nt accidently open one :)
Upholster shop owner will be by tomorrow to look at installing the vinyl top. I love it when I can make good progress. Doesn't always happen |
Looking very good nice work.

Stunning car ,Keep the pics coming

It's amazing how full the engine compartment of a 1969 Camaro SS gets when it's equipped with the 396, factory A/C, & smog control devices. Installed radiator, fan shroud, heater hoses, top hose & some special a/c seals that go between the core support & the radiator. I still have some a/c hoses to go in there

----All AC cars are difficult resto's! I'm impressed with your resto as the degree of difficulty is high compared to, say, a same year low option Z28. Keep up the excellent work.....Bill S

This piece most of you will never need but it's the baffle that was used on 396 a/c Camaros in 1969. My frame had all the holes but since the car was wrecked when it had only 16k miles, the replacement core support needed to have 3 holes drilled & tapped

I got the fenders where I think they are happy so added the valance. It's nice to see it looking more like a Camaro every day

Nice job on the stencil joint in the stripe-I like the slight mismatch - PERFECT :scholar:

More on the 1969 Camaro ss396. A friend of mine dropped by to help me install the hood & get it adjusted. I spent the next couple of hours tightening bolts that I left loose just in case something needed to shift. Also finished up the trunk area. Start back on Monday

Really looks fantastic Joe!

Finally have all the front pieces install on the 1969 ss396 Camaro. The bumper & I almost had a knock down drag out fight but I won...Joe
|
Do you have the AC Baffles for the Cocktail Shakers? They're also a hard item to locate if missing.
|
Looks amazing! I love the front with the endura bumper. Great job,

Joe,
Wish I could put more effort into finishing my cars. Then I could change my user I.D.. Your car looks fantastic. Wish you lived closer so I could check it out. - Warren |
Maybe they'll let me bring it to MCACN this year. That's closer for you...Joe

This is where I'm at today. Vinyl top gets installed on May 5th. Then all that is left is front & back glass & interior which is done & ready to install. Sent an application for MCACN. This is the picture I was able to send. I hope it was good enough till next month

|
Very nice. Congrats on your progress!
|
Wow, I can say that this build has been successful. The car looks cool and beautiful!
|
I can imagine it in the vintage-style Pacer Rallye rims that I saw on 4wheelonline. Awesome progress! The car looks lovely!

I haven't posted in a while. Nothing to photograph. Going through problems like HuggerSS. Found the double crimped brakes hoses don't always fit like the singles. I bought older Raybestos from e-bay. On the RH side I had to remove a little flashing on the caliper & find a copper washer that was .020 thicker. Put trans fluid in the TH400 & I have a leak where the speedo adapter goes into the tail shaft. I go for the vinyl top install on the 5th of May. Not sure about the clips for the top mouldings. Just been working on finishing up. One piece at at a time
I was approved for MCACN so I'm looking forward to that...Joe |
Congrats on MCACN! Great job Joe!

Just got back from having the vinyl top installed on the Camaro. 96 degrees out & the aluminum tip bed trailer is very hot. Oh well, it's only skin. It's grow back
