He now has "protection", in the form of all the ignorant laws that have been passed. You can't even sock someone that really deserves it anymore without fear of being arrested, charged, fined, possible jail time, and paying thousands of dollars to an attorney. I liked it a LOT more back then.

You can accomplish the same thing as you did back in the day,, you just have to be smart about it,, no witness's no cameras etc.
you just have to think a little more

He's using the system, I use the system as well, I do A TON of business on Flea bay and I can tell you that about 20 percent of my stuff goes back because the seller misrepresented the item. most recently is a NOS Solenoid still in the Delco Tin. it rattles around like there are 10 pieces in there,,,no way am I paying top dollar for junk like that

Good luck with that! Delco D969 solenoids have damned near 10 pieces in the box and one set of instructions that does next to nothing to cushion the loose parts. I know, cause I have sold at least 50 of them just like that. If I sell one that has been opened of course I stuff the box with foam sheets, but most all of mine were sold unopened.

Jonesy 10-23-2019 02:57 PM

What a sleezeball:bs: that guy is. He just keeps manufacturing more and more fakes.

SS427 10-23-2019 03:08 PM

There is unfortunately a LOT of these sleezeballs out there selling fake, restamped or forged parts, cars and literature. I don't know and maybe I was raised differently but I just cannot make money by screwing, misleading or stealing from people and still sleep at night. I just don't understand these people. Some of them are amongst us and act as if nothing they are doing is wrong and still pretend to be your friend. Go figure.

HawkX66 10-23-2019 07:09 PM

Goes to show you the "sissyfication" of society that's begun. A few years ago this guy would have been buried somewhere. At least a pretty hard core beating that would make him rethink the error of his ways. I can't believe someone that does this so blatantly isn't at least in prison for fraud yet.

Burd 10-23-2019 08:54 PM

What an a$$hole

Classic Car Fraud Lands Missouri Man In Federal Prison

A Kansas City, Missouri man was sentenced to 10 years in federal prison for one count of wire fraud and one count of transporting a stolen vehicle following a classic car scheme. According to a release from the U.S. Attorney’s Office in the Western District of Missouri, Travis D. Oberg, 51, was fraudulently selling cars that didn't belong to him, and in the end, he ended up stealing $145,000 from his victims.

The article says he used the name Maaco to trick his customers ... Ive never heard of maaco being the name of choice to do restorations.

purple panther 10-24-2019 12:44 PM

His stamps are just horrible. Didn't he sell some BE rear ends that looked like a 3rd grader stamped them.

Fast67VelleN2O 02-07-2020 05:32 PM

Just bringing this back up to the top to remind everyone how much of a scumbag this guy is. Don't get taken!

John Brown 02-07-2020 06:15 PM

There is a thread on Moparts where someone had a 'buyer' return used parts and ebay refunded his money and penalized the seller. Seller won't out the 'buyer' so no one knows who to be aware of. Luckily, over here we have some idea of who to watch out for.

Ha, reading old replies here. I knew of Kurt, heard the biker story too when I mentioned to a friend in Kamloops about how I got my money back from a different scammer.
In my case I found out a friend was scammed by the same guy . He'd call about your wanted ads in the free ad paper and say he has new ones or whatever you were looking for. He needed money first because he has to pay the back rent on the storage to get them.
So we both ganged up to get our money back. He had a cousin who worked out a gym with one of "the boys". HA, 81, AFFA, motorcycle enthusiasts... This "Boy" put the fear of God into the scammer in a serious way and said scammer called us up saying he's left our money plus a little extra for our troubles under the planter by the door. And he did. We never met the biker or heard what happened when he went to the guys place.

Betcha Kurt asks a lots of questions now to find out who his scam victims are or who they know before he acts.
