Re: 67 Z28 project
Thanks guys! The vette has been a work in progress for a few years and the switch has never been hooked up. Thanks for the info.

Re: 67 Z28 project
Orig owner stated the cowl plenum air cleaner was in the trunk and the headers were supposed to be but weren't.
|
Re: 67 Z28 project
Does that mean the headers were never included with it at all upon delivery,or that they were in a different place other then the trunk?
|
Re: 67 Z28 project
Never included but were supposed to be. He put a set of aftermarket headers on.

[ QUOTE ] how bout some close ups of the firewall hole for the cowl plenum air cleaner. inside and out if possible since they were said to be dealer installed and from ones I have seen, they were done differently across the states [/ QUOTE ] Not trying to hijack, just answering a question. Here is a picture of my cowl hole. Not cut out very pretty. I am not sure exactly where the car was bought, but it spent the majority of its life in MN. http://i148.photobucket.com/albums/s...S/cowlhole.jpg [/ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] This cowl plenum hole was cut out very nicely. https://www.yenko.net/attachments/361732-tn_001.JPG [/ QUOTE ] Mine is a Cali 68 RS/Z and you can see it is very similar to Charlie's; cut further down just slightly past the firewall seam to the floor of the cowl area. This car has been down since '79-80 timeframe. Interesting stuff. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v6...o/DSC01313.jpg Nice find by the way. Later, Darrell |

It is finally home.. If you look back at the beginning of this thread you can see where we started. Thanks to Performance Restorations in Mundelien Il for a job well done. Also thanks to Eric at Vintage Musclecar parts for the great job on the carb. Thanks also to Mark Webster at Performance Restos for babysitting the project. I forgot just how many options came on this car.
RS Z28 power steering deluxe interior wood wheel guages fold down rear seat headrest seats shoulder harness seat belts rear antenna rear speaker lighting group cowl plenum air cleaner The blue Z28 personalized plates I have been saving for years to put on the right car. That is the only set of those plates ever assigned in Ca. I went with the experimental aluminum engine and I'm glad I did.The paint and panel fit turned out killer. One of those cars you just enjoy looking at. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/ubbt...lename=020.JPG https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/ubbt...lename=023.JPG https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/ubbt...lename=021.JPG https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/ubbt...lename=024.JPG https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/ubbt...lename=048.JPG https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/ubbt...lename=049.JPG https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/ubbt...lename=019.JPG https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/ubbt...lename=030.JPG |

Re: 67 Z28 project
I can already see a few things that aren't quite right... primarily that it's your car and not mine. Otherwise, looks quite respectable.
Nice work. Great to see another one resuscitated. |
