Re: Lowest milage 69 Yenko Camaro?
[ QUOTE ]
Jim says the car was raced by only one driver and was always raced with a big block. [/ QUOTE ] So would that one driver be the original owner - a guy by the name of Lloyd Eggert? |
Re: Lowest milage 69 Yenko Camaro?
Holy Crap was Eggert the name of the original owner ? When I was a wee lad my cousin and I used to go into a little country store in Camp Lake area of Wisconsin called Eggerts !! I wonder......

Re: Lowest milage 69 Yenko Camaro?
Anybody know the mileage on Cliff's Gold Yenko?
Gotta be pretty low. Sully. |
Re: Lowest milage 69 Yenko Camaro?
Since Don Yenko went to the trouble of having Atlas wheels created for his cars in the first place, (to save money over buying other similar nationally sold wheel brands) I would expect Atlas would be what he would use if that type of wheel was added. By the way, your question WAS if it was an Atlas wheel car... not if it was a mag wheel car... https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...mlins/wink.gif Those are not Atlas wheels.

Re: Lowest milage 69 Yenko Camaro?
I agree with the logic, but nothing is set in stone. We have a bulletin from yenko sportscars that references a new '69 yenko nova with mag wheels that are not Atlas. The nova had 14" wheels vs. the 15" on the 'maros and 'velles, but...... if someone wanted certain wheels, hood, rear, etc... we know Yenko obliged!

Re: Lowest milage 69 Yenko Camaro?
Atlas wheels were not round spoked... that much IS set in stone. Both 14" and 15" versions had the sharp peaked spokes.

Re: Lowest milage 69 Yenko Camaro?
Does the bulletin specify anything more specific than "mag" wheels? https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...mlins/hmmm.gif

They were called "WT" Mags, see attachment.
I had to chop that scan to death, hope it's readable! Sorry, the scan is too light to read, but it reads "7x14 "WT" Mag Wheels/F70x14 tires". The car is K.Suydam's '69 Yenko Nova that was sold new at Stauffer Chev. in Scranton, PA. I emailed the initial scan to Rob, maybe he can resize it without losing resolution. |
Re: Lowest milage 69 Yenko Camaro?
I'll bet the "WT" is s suffix for Wide Tread...and was mistakenly used to describe the wheels rather than the tires... I have often seen "WT" used when referencing wide tread tires, and have never seen nor heard of a "WT" brand of wheel. If the mag wheels were put on at Yenko I would still bet that they were Atlas mags.
