Re: 1968 Baldwin Camaro Tubbed & Tubed
Nice to see some real Motion cars and not some BS deal Nova etc. that people try to hang a name on. These are cool cars.

It was in with some paperwork under the seat.
I didn't see it 'til months after I got the car. Then I did some research to check things out. |

Did the previous owner stick the paperwork there or did he not even know there was paper work under the seat?

When I got the car, the guy said he never touched it. He only had the car for about 1 month. There was no motor, tranny, driveshaft or hood & still he said it was too clean to make into a race car.https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...ns/naughty.gif When he got my Vega (which was completly gutted inside, but all steel outside), he immediately ordered all fiberglass for it. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...lins/dunno.gif(It only weighed 2300lbs in race trim.) I think if he would have kept the Camaro, he would have done the same. |
Re: 1968 Baldwin Camaro Tubbed & Tubed
A good friend of mine raced pro stock back in the early 70's and cut up an original Baldwin Motion car to do it,but the car still exists today, and is reported to be in a garage in central Jersey. The car was stolen off the Bladwin Chevy lot back in 1969,and later recovered with no drivetrain and many other parts missing. My friend bought the car as a stolen recovery with salvage papers back in 1969 and fitted it with the powertrain out of his A/MP 67 camaro, and added a glass nose, and had his racing partner drive it for a few seasons in Pro Stock.I even found his car listed in the NHRA list of Fastest prostockers of all time which I belive was for a MPH record. The car had a patriotic red white and blue paint scheme on it and was named "Born Free",and had the neame Neighborhood Garage on the rear 1/4's.The car wasnt a tube car and from what I could make of the pictures had most of the stock floors, and stock front subframe,so who knows, maybe it could be restored by an ambitous restorer.I wonder what Joel would do if somebody wanted to document it.
